Get the Toyota Camry XLE (I just got the 2007 Camry SE, which is the new body-type, looks excellent - a bit like the BMW?, and runs like a dream. My previous 2003 Camry was four years of "just-put-gas-in-it-and-take-it-for-its-oil-changes-absolutely-problem-free-car-heaven").

This is exactly my point from earlier. If you are maintenance cost obsessed get a Toyota or Honda. If you want to turn heads get a BMW or Benz. Then you don't have to get something that looks like a BMW, but actually is a BMW.

But, if you are really obsessed about maintenance costs, go Toyota or Honda.

Note: Hey, why is M e r c blanked out?????
I'd second the Audi. A friend has one.....well built, well designed solid car. He has had absolutely nothing go wrong with it so far, after about year and a half.

Well, this isn't on your list but I just love the chrysler 300.....decked out they are an awesome looking and performing car......and maybe benz's quality went to Chrysler......with zero percent financing I wouldn't buy outright, I'd put your money in an interest bearing account and just have the payments come out of that then forget about it. No fuss no muss and you will get an ROI on your money. Better for you than the manufacturer.....

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
I've been driving Honda's for over 25 years...never ever a complaint, in fact I wouldn't buy anything else.

Guess a Smart car is not on your wish list?

Nor http://www.vespacanada.com/

It seems tboy is right, auto critics are noting MB C-series in particular with poor quality. The Chryslers I test drove were well made. If it's not for my height, I would consider the Crossfire.

Infiniti, Lexas, Audi, BMW are all nice cars, but they are all a little higher up the snack bracket food chain than what the original poster looks like he is considering paying for.

On his list, I would go for the Accura.

Not true.
The Mercedes B200 starts at 32
Audi A4 around 39
BMW 3 series under 40k

For practicality why don't you look at the Toyota Matrix. Save yourself some cash and it is a pretty versitile hatchback with 4 doors. Not to mention Toyotas legendary quality. Good gas mileage will offset the chugging of the SUV. All this comming from a Honda owner too. Me personally, I am waiting for the Accord diesel.
