This shit has to be kept in house and I really don't respect anyone who does otherwise.
This very reason is where the backlash originates.
I'm not even a hockey fan. I'm looking at this across sports.

Yes he it seems to many people that he is ungrateful and I think that he should go to jail for what he did but to say that he should be in the pine box is classless.

If the Snyder family forgave him, then so be it. They are a strong family and they probably felt close to him and forgave him. I truly believe that you don't have to forgive anyone myself.
What I'm trying to say is the responsible party Heatley, is the drunk driver is always the one to survive the crash, the roles should be reversed but never are.

Heatley crashes his car not once but twice into the exact same wall about a year apart, the second time killing Snyder.

People of his ilk other athletes entertainers etc, have a false sense entitlement get 2nd 3rd 4th chances, while others don't get a first.

Instead of learning from their mistakes they figuratively shit on everyone, but that is society sickness of hero worship, nobody should be put on a pedestal.

I don't think the pine box statement is classes, I'm just saying it would fair, but nothing in this world is fair, so fuck him.

Also, to put things in perspective I think Michael Jackson's death makes the world a better place.

Has Heatley stated why he wants out of Ottawa? Just curious.
Yep, he doesn't like the coach. Had his minutes cut and was put on 2nd team PP. Instead of getting his production up to where it belongs he blames the coach. Even though the team played better, he sulked and became bitter because he's a real team player.

A thought crossed my mind with the revelation of McGratton being an addict. We all know Emery and Redden were also stuffing their noses regularly, these things are usually more pervasive than just a few guys. Wonder if Danny boy is part of party central in Otown too?

Word is Spezza was/is also in the mix. The young and the rich.

The Edmonton Oilers are still trying to woo Senators' sniper Dany Heatley into accepting a trade to their organization.

The Oilers sent a package of videos to Heatley, apparently displaying the star potential of the team with highlights of players like Sam Gagner, Ales Hemsky and Shawn Horcoff. Heatley's agent, Stacey McAlpine, confirmed the videos had arrived but did not say if his client watched them or not. Edmonton appears to be getting pretty desperate.

Heatley refused to go to Edmonton just a few weeks ago and now this. Pretty desperate is right.

agreed. why would you want a player who doesn't respect your city enough to come right away??? what oilers' fans are going to embrace heatley if he comes now???

ottawa should play heatley on the 4th line with no pp time. let him get banged up by some 4th line grinder and injured.

heatley is a twit. i'll never forgive him for being a murderer.

I really don't think so... considering they are NOT on speaking terms and Heatley turned down an invite to Spezza's wedding.

I really liked this guy as a player and it all came crashing down around him after Dan Snyder's death.

Heatley is such an ungrateful asshole. He was given another chance to make a ton of money for a game that he loves and he wants things done on his terms. I think that no-trade, no movement clauses are just plain dumb. The team is at the mercy of the player. Such bullshit.

He should be behind bars.

wrong, he should be in a mangled car wreck and join his buddy up there.

Eklund and TSN say NYR's are the likeliest spot for Heatley to land, but after todays moves of Ehrhoff and Lukowich out of San Jose, I'm beginning to wonder....

some good pickups for Vancouver no doubt...

but San Jose just opened up almost $5 MILLION in cap space!

yeah very happy about getting ehrhoff.... i think he's great.... canucks also signed matthieu schneider this week so, including lukowich, that's 3 new nhl calibre d-men on the team. they are now just over the cap so look for the canucks to move kevin bieksa for some good prospects.

Brian Burke said today he is working on a deal with Vancouver... doubt it's Bieksa- Toronto has a bunch of nhl d-men right now... probably a young forward.

if it's a forward it's likely jannick hansen. he's likely not going to make the canucks this year with the emergence of michael grabner and cody hodgson.

Maybe they can bring back Wellwood and name him captain.

Heatley would be unwanted baggage for TML. As far as the Canucks go, who would they want from the current Leaf roster?

likely draft picks or prospects. canucks have salary cap issues and are trying to move some bodies right now.

I really don't think Heatley has what it takes to be a Burke man. I don't think he'll be in TML uni anytime soon.
