I'm not going to speculate as to where Heatly will end up because I don't think even he knows what he wants for sure. Heatly first needs to get his head out of his ass and get on with playing hockey, in Ottawa, which may be difficult for him this year. He needs bring back what he used to have and be that player again or Ottawa will tire of him and his name will be associated with bad attitude to all GMs.

The word is that Heatley went 'Gary Leeman' and screwed a wife or GF of one of his teammates. He doesn't want to go back into the dressing room.

Idle speculation at best. If thats true the players would be the first to say that they don't want him back.

according to NHL.com

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=498189

according to the above article on NHL.com, Heatley has been traded to San Jose and Patrick Marleau is gone to Los Angeles. Completing the 3-way is Jarrett Stoll and Alexander Frolov heading to Ottawa.

If true, good deal for Ottawa. Even though it's NHL reported... I have my doubts on this one. How the heck did it get approved on a day when parts of the NHL approval committee are in court?? that and Patty Marleau has to waive his NTC.

my guess is that because it's a 3-way, you won't hear anyone acknowledge the deal took place until all of the conditions are cleared- probably will have occured before Friday late night.

This is probably a better result than the three-way would have been. Unfortunately, we lose the chance to see Clouston bench him! (probably wishful thinking but would have been fun to see)

heatley to sharks for michalek and cheechoo.

love this trade cause michalek and cheechoo both light up the canucks and heatley is invisible against the canucks. sharks just got weaker imo. hope cheechoo comes back for 50 goals and michalek is a guaranteed 25-30 goal man.

Michalek will be too fast to play with Spezza, but would probably work good with Alfredsson or Fisher...

Cheechoo... he's got some demons to work out... hopefully the trade will do him good.

fair trade, imo.... the Michalek/Cheechoo combo will probably score more points combined than Heatley, so a + for Ottawa, but, SJ dumping Michalek's 3rd line salary is a + for the Sharks. plus, SJ has the benefit of being able to put Heatley together with Thornton or Marleau... if that don't get Heater scoring, nothing will.
