It kind of did for the midterms and the build-up to 2024 with Abortion, Social Security and Medicare it is going to be a Dem beating on the Repugs once again!

Well...we'll see. I mean, for many different reasons, the MAGA crowd and GOP supporters continuously vote against their own interests. They vote to give tax cuts to the rich and deprive themselves of medical coverage, they vote to undercut unions and the middle class, and even voted to lose rights like the ability to have an abortion. I cannot predict what will happen in a year and a bit, but nothing would surprise me if they continue to elect (or re-elect) those who promise to dismantle the social safety net.

It is mind-boggling how ignorant they are! They complain about the elite yet vote for the policies supporting the rich elite. LMAO

Question: Is the woman's "right" to an abortion unfettered or are there some rational restrictions?

"Today, around 140 million women are believed to be "missing" around the world – the result of son preference, including gender-biased sex selection, a form of discrimination. Since the 1990s, some areas have seen up to 25 per cent more male births than female births. The rise in sex selection is alarming as it reflects the persistent low status of women and girls. The resulting gender imbalance also has a damaging effect on societies. Instances of increased sexual violence and trafficking have already been linked to the phenomenon. UNFPA is calling for renewed attention to the issue at a global level, and is accelerating efforts to develop programmes and policies that end all forms of discrimination, including son preference and gender-biased sex selection."

What does any of that have to do with a woman's right to choose

"Dr. Pargat Singh Bhurji, a pediatrician in Surrey, B.C., calls the practice of female feticide barbaric."

Some people support female feticide, some don't.

Well a doctor in BC thinks it barbaric so now depriving millions of American women of the right to choose makes total sense.

My point is that unrestricted abortions, just like unrestricted "free speech" and other rights often need some rational restrictions. Female feticides should be one of the reasonable restrictions. It's more than one doctor in B.C., that view is shared by many.

"The obstetricians group says it doesn't condone abortions based on non-medical reasons such as the gender of the fetus."

Abortion is not outlawed in the USA. If a woman lives in a State that doesn't allow it and really desires to kill her kid, she can still go to a State where infanticide is legal. Maybe inconvenient. But how much do you really want it.
