The conservative majority court has this week, all by 6 to 3 decisions, with only the liberal justices dissenting:
Decided in favour of tax payer funding for religious schools
Overturned the New York state law that prohibited the right of the general public to carry concealed guns, which affects other states with similar laws as well.
Overturned Roe v. Wade, putting abortion laws back in the hands of the individual states.
Look out, USA same-sex marriage advocates, etc. They're coming for you....

I find it so sad that women in the US had to fight for so long and hard to get abortion rights. And now 50 years later no better off than 50 years ago.
Too bad they can't take the politics out of such choices and just do what is right for women to make their own choice regarding abortion.

This may interest you… I believe another member on this board posited that if R vs. W was overturned (which it now has been) the SCC might look more favourably on similar cases in Canada to send a message to the far right in terms of pushback. Not in the case of abortion, mind you - however, the court may be more inclined to repeal C-36 as a result. Think?
No mass shootings, no militarized cops shooting innocent blacks, no bans on abortion, no massive inequality, universal healthcare, people of all races and religions coexisting peacefully for the most part, no Donald Trump. It's a good thing for everyone.
