I will find it easier to justifiy loss of 100% of Ukraine if it has to be defended

I am not a Hypocrite. Ukraine presented a threat to Russia by inviting enemies of Russia onto their territory and attacking Russian diaspora in the Donbas. Russia offered them a peace agreement which they agreed to with UNSC approval then broke. Now Russia has annexed these territories. The situation is not the same as Gaza, but I have also suggested in the past that Israel annex the Pali territories but without ethnic cleansing. Israel is the bad guy because they are oppressing the Palis in a horrific manner. Look at Crimea, are they oppressed? Did Israel offer the Palis to join Israel as citizens? All the people in Crimea and Donbas are full citizens with passports. and full rights under Russian law.
I don't think RUssia really wants the non-ethic Russian dominated areas. I think at most they will take Odessa and Nikolayev for keeps the rest they will subdue and spin off into a rump state eventually. But keeping Ukraine out of the Black Sea is a desirable strategic gain.

They should have stuck to the UNSC approved Minsk 2 agreement. Would you rather live in a country controlled by Putin or be free in rubble in the freezing cold and lose everything you have?
