where did it say complete? It said interim. Anyway there willl probably be no ceasefire Its not in Russias interest to have a ceasefire
It IS in Russia's interest to cease fire and leave the temporarily occupied territories and start trying to rebuild their country.
It is NOT is Vladimir Vladimirich's interest to have a ceasefire... on the battlefield. Because his personal life now depends on the war continuing. Putin, like Trump, is a complete narcissist and is and always has only been interested in furthering his own personal desires. Let's be honest and frank here notty. He is 72 now and at that age you start thinking more about YOUR legacy. YOUR place in history. Putin wanted to go down in history as the man who resuscitated the USSR. That's why he invaded Ukraine. He has zero interests in protecting Russian speaking people in RUSSIA, never mind Ukraine or anywhere else. He KNOWS that the LAST thing NATO members want is to take over responsibility for the massive kleptocratic welfare state the Russian Federation is. Minerals, oil, resources? Meh... ANY company in the world can approach Russia (with a suitcase of gold bullion) and establish a mining, oil and gas, lumber... whatever , project in Russia without taking it over militarily. Before his lunatic war, Russia was awash in foreign companies working with Russians in joint ventures in all these sectors. The Russian are simply too primitive and behind in technology (except what they stole or bought through western partners) to do much on their own. They still can't build a car that is not even assembled as well as a soviet era tractor. His many and constantly varying post-facto
reasons excuses lies for invading Ukraine are often contradictory and always bullshit.
You are right, Russia can't stop the fight by their own choosing. Aside from Putin himself, you know that those upper strata of the Russian system are dependent on that system for their very livlihoods, if not lives.
Russia has to be defeated for its own good to try for a fresh start. I have many Russian friends here and abroad. I have spent time in Russia. Even taken the Trans Siberia Railway with many stops along with way. The Russian people are kind, generous and hospitable decent people... just trying to get by in a horribly corrupt and inhumane political system.
It sounds contradictory but I personally want Russia to be defeated, to fail... for the sake of the
people of the Russian Federation.
