Russia hadnt agreed to the cease-fire yet though.

Talks are still ongoing. So long as they're still talking, there's hope
If they can address Putins concerns and Ukraine agrees to withdraw from Donbas then sure, but I doubt Ukraine will. Why would he give Ukraine 30 days to rearm and recruit more troops?

trump has stopped giving Ukraine intel and now gives it to Putin and still he hasn't taken over Ukraine.
Maybe Putin isn't as mighty as you dream.

Those thousands of Ukrainian troops encircled could be the
best units Zelensky has at this time. Trump could indeed win
a war of publicity to his advantage if he can pull off a ceasfire
agreement that allows the trapped Ukrainian troops to be let
go unharmed.

It is a good call if one is a Russian asset. Which he is.
NATO members have no intention to deploy troops
to save Ukraine from Russian conquest.

NATO itself cannot send NATO troops to come to the rescue
of Ukraine because of Article 5 ostensibly.

Donald Trump is negotiating an end to the war that even in the
worst case scenario should avert total collaspe of the state of
Ukraine as well as putting a stop on ongoing killing.

Between Donald Trump, NATO and NATO members of France
and the UK which of them is Ukrainain asset and which of them
Russian asset?

The guy that stopped funding and intel sharing to Ukraine.

I goes this does take more than 24hrs and 1 phone call to fix.
Flow of military aid to Ukraine was restored already apparently
to pressure Putin to give in.

Not sure about intel sharing but Ukraine is not an ally
of the U.S. Intel sharing is neither a right or privilege of
the proxy in a proxy war whose role is to weaken the enemy
of its bankroller by getting its troops killed.

No.
He is negotiating FOR Russia using Russian talking points.
Any concern for Ukrainian lives he attempts to express is cynical at best.
You know the reason why Trump is not using Ukrainian
talking points?

Here is a hint to the answer: Trump would not have to
use Russian talking points if Ukraine is winning the war.

That further proves that Trump is a Russian asset.
Ukraine is in a bad spot because Trump has cut off all aid and intel.
Now he is using Russian talking points.
He put them in a bad spot and is expressing fake concern while demanding to plunder Ukraine's natural resources.
He is literally acting as Putin's proxy.

He does not want all of Urkaine, just the parts that have strong affinity to Russia. The western parts of Ukraine would problematic to control. Best to break it up, give the Hungarian parts back to Hungary, and the Polish parts back to Poland, cut Ukraine from the black sea and leave it as a powerless agrarian rump state,. Those that wanna stay can stay, those that feel affinity to Russia can move to the Russian section. Probably also annex Transnistria. The goal of the SMO was demilitarization. The only way to do it is to fight a war of attrition and wipe out the military aged men. Any deal will require an army of less then 100K and limited heavy weapons and production. US does not give Russia any intel, and they have resumed weapons and Intel to Ukraine to pressure Russia, which will have the 100% opposite effect.

... a peace deal is the only way to go. Russia should give up invaded land (highly doubt it) Ukraine should abandon their NATO membership dream. Will NATO move back to the original agreement? (doubt it). Trump brokered this ceasefire to stop the deaths and financial toll...He just saved Ukraine (temporarily)
This will never go back to where it was.
If you're going to expend that many resources fighting a war you have to come out of it with something.
More important, even if there's a peace deal, Russia will never trust the West to stay put, they will retain what they need
to ensure future security.

Trump has no cards with Russia, at best a pair of 2's. Its true that this war was easily avoidable, but once a war starts, they are very difficult to stop.
