Canada's gun laws are more tight than US gun laws...nothing needs fixing in our side of the border. Canadian's aren't gun lovers like Americans are...
I agree to a certain extent with your post but as I said before, I will not feel sorry for a city dweller to be told he cannot own a gun or at least store it at home. If it was kept on site at a shooting facility, that would be fine.

Also keep in mind, Justin and the Liberals have always shown to not be fond of firearms, so really this should come as no surprise to anyone. As a matter of fact, they've ran on tight gun laws and if I'm not mistaken they keep on winning.

Sorry I totally disagree with you.
Which part? That home invasion murders are exceedingly rare in Canada because you already agreed that most people don't have the tactical training or experience to manage the situation.

Its also very disappointing that Canadians aren't allowed to keep their own anthrax stock, uranium or javelins.
Hunting would be so much more fun with them.

Your entire post. You're delusional if you think that a person would be just as likely to kill a family member during a home invasion. Do you have any statistics to prove your theory?

I gather you've never been in an extremely tense adrenaline-pumping situation? Do you know how you will react when your life is on the line and the panic sets in?

You already agreed that people have neither the training nor the experience to deal with an armed assailant and now you are trying to pretend that home invasion murders (of people not heavily involved in crime) is in any way common in Canada. And yes, accidental shootings are far more likely than the essentially non-existent home invasion killings.

But I'm sure that you having watched the entire Die Hard series fully prepared you to take on an armed intruder.

I took an extensive self defense course in Florida including training with firearms. Do have any evidence that accidental shootings are far more likely?

I've been in a bank while it was being robbed. Does that count?

Shootings are always more likely when there are more guns.

Again, home invasion murders are essentially non-existent in Canada (at least excluding drug dealers and the like). Therefore even one accidental shooting per year makes it more likely.

p.s. go tell actual trained shooters about how prepared you are. They'll get a good story to tell their buddies. There's a reason why SWAT, MARSOC, SEALS, Delta, etc. train thousands of hours to deal with tactical situations and continually work through course but I'm sure your course was just as good.

You just don't get it. You don't have to be in SWAT to know how to defend yourself with a gun. Stop talking about a subject you seem to know nothing about.

I'm sure that watching John Wick adequately prepared you.

Home invasion murders are essentially unheard of in Canada so the thought that you need a gun to defend yourself from your imagination is paranoia.

It's not paranoia. It's about insurance. Do you have insurance on your home? Chances are you won't have a fire or catastrophic event but you still have it. Are you paranoid?

My insurance doesn't involve the chance of anyone being killed. Even better, if someone robs me, that insurance will replace what they stole.

But sure, argue it's okay to kill some guy because he wants your TV and you're too scared to walk away and call the cops.

Well if you have it in your drawer and it's loaded without the safety on then you're just stupid.
