Plato as a high school teacher of boys is a different thing. Then, you would ask “Kelly how could think Plato would be a good instructor at an all boys school?” I would say I do not. Completely different set of criteria for judgement and liking sex with boys actually matters there.

However, I do think there can be SOME crossover between the morality of a president and SOME policy decisions and/or SOME relationships with other politicians (domestic or foreign). For example, I wouldn't want someone with no regard for the integrity of the nuclear family deciding what the family laws should be, or a convicted rapist dealing with a female foreign head of state who had been raped herself.
The problem is that Trump critics never try to make this kind of practical connection between what Trump is alleged to have done and what he says he plans to do as President - which includes getting the border under control, pursuing across the board tax reductions, reducing wasteful government spending, removing America from as many foreign wars as possible, and removing the obstacles to rapid improvement of the American economy. What have his alleged misdeeds to do with any of that? Nothing, in my opinion.
Politicians inevitably are not nice people. They are almost all insufferable narcissists. The best you can hope for is that what they actually DO improves some aspect of life for citizens.
There are people who voted Trump because they want, among other things,
i) tighter border control
ii) less climate change BS
iii) sending less to no more aid to Ukraine and withdrawal from military
bases in Europe and other parts of the world to save money
iv) more business for the nation's arms and weapons manufacturers following
successful execution of iii.
Many voters for Trump are decent people who just choose to look past
his bizarre personality.

There is definitely crossover between morals and leadership, I considered this myself. I think the fraud issue, for example, is a legitimate strike against him if real; that matters in any campaign. The rest of the sexual assault claims and pussy grabbing IMO don’t matter because unlike how Kamala tried to act like one of the hinge issues in this election was womanstuff, it absolutely was not. @drewstar wrote an excellent post on that upthread.
Anyway your point is taken and I’m in general agreement too, just not about certain points on his character or affiliations that others here have presented to me.
