I did misunderstand it. I take back the back handed bitch slap. I have only seen/used the term 'troll' in the context of the internet.
Not guaranteed to do anything but make you look incompetent when the witness is a qualified expert.
The witness is testifying off a scientific report. It's not like you're going to get him to break down on the stand Perry Mason style.

Wondering how much is his legal fee? Will his lawyer likely do this for pro bono? I think the bill is quick large.

He probably hasn't worked for 3 years too. Loss of wages for 3 years (500k in wages as an accountant?), potentially a 6 figure legal bill, emotional distress and being assaulted by a cop - probably owed a good million or so by the corrupt cops

do people remember John Tory and Doug Ford complaining when Zameer got bail for this? Because "bails should not be granted for murders"? So he should have spent this time in jail? I'm just glad my prediction was right. Justice has been served. Although, had justice been served, properly, from the beginning, he never would've been charged in the first place. But you know, cops gotta get their man.

$200K is about the amount I figured it would cost for a good lawyer like Hasan
It is now at 140K. I bet the 200K was after a huge discount because it is a high profile case. Could easily be atleast twice that if billed at his full hourly rate.

The presumption of innocence is one of the pillars of our criminal justice system, he said. "And for politicians to spout off and sentence a man and condemn a man who is presumed innocent without knowing any true details of the case — it is reckless, it is irresponsible.
Any no-name half decent criminal defence lawyer with experience in these matters might charge $400-$500 hr. 20 hours a week prep for a year is already $100,000.00. 2-3 years. Then the trial ... I bet the lawyers are working 12-14 hour days for those 3 weeks.
And even if the main lawyer has reduced his rate, the associate lawyers, clerks etc are employees and have to have a regular paycheque. Rent and office overhead is expensive. Transcripts, meetings for disclosure, conferences. Meeting with and hiring expert witnesses.
If Zameer only had to pay $200,000.00 I bet that barely covered his lawyers most basic costs.
I can go along with the police arresting him at the scene. After all... there is a dead police officer on the floor. And even being charged is not unreasonable. But once the Crown became aware of the objective facts, his own unbiased forensic sargeant's findings contradicting the 3 lying cops and didn't withdraw the charge... then it became a malicious, politically driven, self-preserving prosecution in my opinion.
Being effective prosecutors and not letting someone guilty get away has turned into "We gotta get our man at all costs regardless of who we fuck over", toxic nonsense!
Sadly, that has become the norm for years. Especially if unrepresented or poorly represented..
