Well all I can say Lord help Toronto if Olivia gets in. She is going to kill us with the taxes.
They will ALL raise taxes if they win. It's only a couple that are honest about it and admit they will.
Canadians can talk until they are blue in the face about budget cuts and balanced budgets, but when it comes time to cut programs they raise a fuss. Canadians like their social programs.

We need someone who can take on DoFo and get him to fully fund the city and pay for all the Tory/DoFo Metrolinx crap that should be provincial.

I know what is your problem. Finally!!!! You're not Canadian or at least Ontarian. You can't possibly be and say something that nutty.

Municipalities are the provincial creation in Ontario. The Queen's Park can do what it wants as it did when it chopped the Toronto's Council and last month when it took apart Peel. OK? There's no taking on anybody on the provincial level by a mayor of any municipality without adverse consequences for the city. The City and the Queen's Park need to cooperate, above all.

The crackhead killed transit city, which would have been paid by the province and gave us a $3 billion subway station that has yet to be built and a tax increase we are paying to pay for it.
Tory's back of the envelope plan is run by Metrolinx, its provincial yet Tory made a deal for the city to pay for it.

Idiots.

No shit, Captain Obvious.

And we have and are still suffering the vengeful consequences of a thug premier still unable to cope with the humiliation he experienced with his bro Rob when they were thrown into the garbage pile by the residents of Toronto.

The 4 burning issue seems to be:

Affordability
Safety
Transit
Taxes

Raising taxes will not help affortability

Update: Add bike lanes to the list.

My major concern with Chow is she talks affordability and higher taxes in the same breathe.

How does raising taxes make life more affordable?

Just like the Carbon Tax puts MORE money in the pockets of Canadians who need it.
The Left doesn't even try to make it make sense.

My main concern with her is she defined budgeting as follows.

Decide what you want then either go get more money from Fed/Prov or raise taxes until
you have enough. She actually said this in the debate. No thought of we only have so much even crosses her mind.

Olivia Chow = Ineptocracy

Ineptocracy = a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Tax the rich, get the province, with its $22 billion surplus, to pay for more Metrolinx, transit and health care.

all i fucking want is our roadways to have a minimal number of pot holes....construction sites where construction workers are actually working rather than walking up and down with coffee in hand................and a leader who has some semblance of emphathy and compassion for those people standing and waiting for a bus along Finch Ave at 6am on a cold january morning...................i dont give a frigg about removing bike lanes, eliminating injection sites and all the other things that right wing yahoos screech about....and of those who run vanity campaigns by putting their face on signs....please go away with your obscene narcissism..

On a cbc debate I heard while driving the MC asked the candidates what they would do on day one. Chow said 'potholes', she knows the city and its responsibilities and the timings for dealing them.

Got news for you, that's how budgeting is supposed to work.

The Tory, Mel and Rob's way was to pick a number as long as it was 0, 1, or 2, then pare services to fit that #.

Repeat that flawed and failed process for 12 consecutive years and voila, Toronto is decaying and facing a $46.5billion budgetary gap over the next 10 years.

And you more of the same shit?

Lol. So let me get this straight. When you are doing your household budget you make up a wish list, then go hat in hand to your parents, and the bank, and if they don't give you enough money you force your kids to make up the difference?

Don't be naive, Darts. They will ALL raise taxes. Only Chow and Matlow have admitted it.

Good thought, and I agree, but how practical is that. We are not close to either a provincial or a federal election, so neither government will be handing out goodies. Ford appears to be hoarding money so he has plenty to dole out when re-election time comes around.
