HaHa!!!! If Olivia Chow is elected Mayor I don't expect the strong mayor powers to last long.
This will be DoFo: "Friends, I have listen to the hard working people of Ontario and decided they don't want their mayors to have strong powers. Blah, blah, blah......".
again..it doesnt matter what their policy pronouncements are....or promises they make.........they will disappear as fast as a fart in a windstorm....study their backstory...who they hang with,,who are in their backrooms and who their donors are.....this guy Furey has advanced in the polls little bit..so i checked out his story....a far right kook show who has buried his past from voters......Saunders is a marionette for Ford...as negative and dispirited as they come....Bailio is like that 3 day old tapioca pudding you forgot about in your fridge...and Matlow seems to be a know it all nob...Mitzi Hunter seems as upbeat and positive as anyone can be who is polling at 7/10%....seems genuine enough....Olivia Chow is a leftie who will be constrained by Council....she doesnt blow in the wind..her world view has never waived...and after a dozen years of right wing rule with do nothing Mayors who watched over crumbling and filthy streets,,,chocked the TTC with service cuts while raising fares...and bending over to rich elites...time for a breath of fresh air

The city council has had a center-right/right-wing majority since amalgamation and has been led by a center-right/right-wing mayor for 17 years, all of which has led to it's current state of decay, and decomposition plus a catastrophic $46.5billion budgetary gap over the next 10 years.
And you bunch of "we want everything, but don't want to pay for anything", civic governance illiterates want more of the same?

If it was such an important job, it should have a get on the ballot entry fee set at $10,000.
And if you pull in 5% of the vote you get $9,000 of it refunded.
Then the pool of candidates would more manageable and maybe begin to be credible.

No I'm looking at it from a common sense political spectrum perspective. Since 2015 the city of Toronto has been governed from a centre to centre left ideology. And for 8 years prior to 2011 it was left wing kook Miller in power. Possibly the worst mayor of all time.
