The Leafs are sucking again, not signing anybody, I wonder if there is a power struggle in the front office

Sign 37 year old defenceman to 3 year contract.

Leafs need a babysitter for their captain.

Not a bad signing, brings character. Leafs have a horrible captain, and you simply can't strip him of the title. They should have jumped at the chance to get rid of him before that awful extension.

A 37 year old defenceman who fractured his leg during this years playoffs. Have brought Frattin back via trade.

Bolland gone, I am glad it is done. I was a bit worried they may over pay.

Robidas for 3 years at $3 per. OK.
Frattin ... hmm
Komarov is back, now I am smiling.

Miller to Vancouver surprised me a bit.
I thought a California team would get him.

Marty Brodeur will be in the hall before Lindros.
Brodeur is (was) a fantastic goalie, certainly HHoF worthy, though he benefited tremendously from the system his team played.

Pavel Bure & Cam Neely, the 2 examples I used above, their statistics are comparable to Lindros.

All 3 have the same number of Stanley Cups as players.

I thought you were kidding. Is the team nuts? Gleason is hard working, blocks shots, adds toughness and you put him on waivers? Letting Gunner go made sense, he was much too soft. But if the Leafs want to buy out someone, do it with Phaneuf. This is really a shame, you trade away Liles who I also liked, now add both a hit on the cap, and have no return. I can only imagine it having to do with the free agent frenzy, it makes GMs simple minded.

Regardless what Toronto has in mind July 1, I'd still have kept Gleason.
Why with so much stupid money being spent on July 1st ... Why wasn't the Leafs able to trade Gleason ..

Also just two years after a lockout and owners spending like drunken sailers. I guess at least they don't sign players for 15 years now.

The Leafs have not yet been able to strengthen the centre position with any free agent signing. Its going to be even harder to upgrade through trades. They have to pay dearly for a good first or second line centres. As of now Bozak, Kadri, Holland and McClement will be the centres starting the season. If no significant improvement is made before then, I don't like their playoff chances.

It's good to have Komarov back, but don't expect him to be the saviour.

And the odds of the Leafs getting the number one pick are..........?
Easy with the current lineup. Finish last place and they will have the best odds. The NHL is revamping the lottery draft but still last place team will still have the best odds.

Has Bolland ever scored 20 goals in a season in the NHL?

Kadri scored 20 goals last season. How much will he want now???

Got to hand it to Bolland. He did even better than Clarkson in landing a big contract. Those two might coach Leafs one day.

Komarov is the team's fourth line center or a third line winger. A solid bottom six forward.

Guess they are hoping their young centers Holland and the 1st round draft choice Nylander will do something for the team. Holland probably given the chance show if he can be a third line center.

Scoring is not a problem for the Leafs.

They could be better up the middle.

They could be better on defense.

Half the season last season they did not have a third or fourth line. That's tough after a while.

They should trade Riemer ASAP. They do not need the goaltending circus such as Vancouver last season. It is not like the Mayor Ford circus. This is actually important.

:p

Bolland ... who cares, he wanted too much. Florida needed to spend to get to Cap floor.
Kadri ... if he asks for too much trade him at the deadline.
Komarov ... Leafs fan know exactly what his role will be. He is supposed to be a bother to the opposition. .... To all idiots, do not confuse Leafs fans with the moronic media.
Nylander ... unless he REALLY shows something at camp he should go to junior or the AHL.
Holland ... I hope he gets a long look and a decent shot in the regular season.

Goaltending ... there will not be the circus in Toronto that we saw in Vancouver. Here there is absolutely no question who is staying and the number one. Also the Leafs are not paying Reimer.

Remaining FAs
I would like to see the Leafs give Ribeiro a shot, if he is reasonable.
I would give Winnik a one or two year deal to play on the third or fourth line.
And there are a couple of defensemen still available.
I do not think finding a backup goalie will be much of a problem.

Is there a deadline for the Leafs to annouce tickets price increased? Especially, after they signed Komarov for almost 3mil a season? Whoopee!!!
Kidding aside no one from their division had done anything of significance to strenghten their own rosters yesterday, imo. Buffalo is trying to sell season tickets that's why they needed to make on kind of noises since draft day. Leafs? The house is always full regardless of on ice product.:)

Boston is pretty much capped out and couldn't make any moves, Montreal just got rid of some dead wood and added a few small pieces, Ottawa didn't do much and will be worse than last year and Buffalo made a lot of good veteran signings with still more money to spend. Toronto got a decent player in Komorov but lost two decent guys in Bolland and Raymond. And yes no matter how poor the product on the ACC ice is they will continue to sell out which leads one to ponder how much intelligence leaf fans have.

If you think you're so much smarter than Leaf fans, why are you spending so much time and effort in posting on Leaf threads like this ? If you're so smart why would you time and again bet on the Leafs and lose ? It leads one to ponder how much intelligence you have.

Both Borje Salming and Anders Hedberg are endorsing Willi Nylander - who are we to argue against them?

Polak will protect Bernier better than Gleason did and Komarov will bring his lunch pail - but don't expect them to make the playoffs. Shany and Nonis are going about this with a clear vision, the talent pool has to be built up. Hopefully by next summer the Peddiebonic Black Death will be a travesty of the past.

For what the Leafs charge for 1 premium seat you could take a family of 4 to a game in several US based markets. I think you Leaf fans are a little too sensitive after 47 years with no cups I would think you would be used to the needling by now. I'm a huge Blue Jays fan but I wouldnt pay what they want for their premium seats either.
