Times have changed.

Before the Leafs management would trade away all the youth and draft picks. Cliff Fletcher said it best back then, draft, shmrath.

Nowadays, the Leafs back young developing players they traded away, such as Matt Frattin.

The Bernier deal has to be one of the most lopsided deals the past few years. Even though the Kings won the cup again, the Leafs got Bernier for a couple of minor league players. Kind of interesting that Leafs management did something right, after all there probably 28 other teams in the league willing to make that kind of deal with the Kings.

That that Canadiens defense man would choose to be traded to Buffalo than Toronto, no matter, this guy would still like to come back.

kind off topic, but doesn't anyone know where I can stream HBO 24/7 leafs and red wings? I've tried youtube, primewire, and project free t.v, and couldn't find it on any of those.

Breaking news: The Leafs just got themselves a new centreman in the name of ...wait for this..Kontiola (WTF..a who?) Petri Kontiola is a 30 year old Finnish. He played in the KHL last season. I heard that Leafs will be signing or trading for Euroupeans mostly from here on in. Because none of the Euroupeans can tell the difference between TORONTO and BUFFALO.

Euroupeans ... lol



Kontiola was drafted by the Black Hawks a couple of seasons ago and several others teams were interested in signing him.
He also paid $600,000 out of his own pocket to gain his FA status from the KHL team so he may be motivated.
We will see.

Leafs are No.1 in the NHL!!!!! Well,they're the most valuable franchise in the NHL since 2005 at over 1bil even though they only made the playoffs once..lol! And, the Leafs are the only hockey club make the list of the richest sports franchises in the world from Forbes. They're ranked at number 26th as the matter of fact. Good giref!

Considering Leafs got fleeced with Toskola and Raycroft it's a good thing they fleeced L.A. of Bernier.

LA did cause they could have won with or without Bernier but they could have gotten a lot of better young prospects to build and sustain their future. Does this mean 29 teams all got fleeced in trades last year? Your logic is flawed big time. According to your logic Leafs did not get fleeced with Toskola cause SJ never won the cup. Sharks got Logan Couture and Leafs haven't sniff the playoffs ... As for Bernier ... Nobody won the trade or nobody got fleeced ... Kings still have a 2nd round pic to show for Bernier and Marian Gaborik ( they got for trading Matt Frattin ) helped them win a Cup ...

Franson 3.3 signed and so 11 remaining with 9 million left ... Next up for Leafs Gardiner and Reimer. Reimer's arbitration hearing scheduled for next Monday ...
