I don't think Toronto fans are getting "crazy" over one win. Rather, it is the way that they are doing it against a, ahem, much more experienced team who finished well ahead of them in the standings. What is wrong with fans being overzealous for a team as beloved in this city as the Toronto Maple Leafs. Three games going into overtime and the Leafs come out on top in two of them. The excitement that this team is bringing to Toronto is unrivalled in the hockey world. Many years of pain and agony are now replaced with optimism and renewed hope.
The management team from the top down are doings things right (trading away Kessel and Phaneuf and their huge contracts was the beginning of the goods things that are now happening) and I have to think they are amazed how 2016/2017 went and how much the rookies have progressed/matured in one year with the big team. Remember the Leafs finished dead last last year and are currently in a "re-building" phase. This years success in making the playoffs was, on the most part, totally unexpected.
Toronto has the Raptors, Blue Jays and TFC but the Leafs are now in their rightful place on centre stage during this playoff season. In my lifetime, hockey has never been more exciting in this city as it is today.
