Well good thing is the Leafs have built up some insurance for when the players win a game.
Leafs beat Winnipeg 4-3 in OT, JVR scored the winner.

Next up Philadelphia on Thursday.
Keon should be in there before George.

It's all political. The Leaf management doesn't like Keon. Same with Busher Jackson who some think is the best left winger ever or second best just behind Bobby Hull but Leaf management doesn't like him because he spent all his money on wine, women, song and friends.

Busher Jackson top left winger of all time or second best? Good lord -- please tell me all the "some" who think that.

After last night's performance, or some would call antics, but good antics, I don't think they will trade Kadri. Scores the tying goal in the dirty areas, then takes a run at a guy 50 pounds heavier and like 1 foot taller, all the way from the blue line because he was pissed off. Did Darcy Tucker give him a pep talk before the game?

That Holland fellow, noticed he plays ornery at times. Must be sick of the losing too.

The player I think that misses the enforcers, not Kadri, but Bozak, and Kessel.

Centers are not easy to find. Olie Jokein, he still has it, but probably will score like David Booth this year. They look like they can still play, but can they still score and produce? Some stats don't lie.

I do not think they should trade Kessel now, only after the draft maybe. Who knows, they could win the lottery. Then we have to remember Brian Burke words about looking at a player's body of work while in Toronto. The way he is playing now, he definitely should be moved, but he's been Toronto best forward since the day he got here.

Even though they said they were going on a total rebuild, there does not seem to be a simple answer to the roster at the moment.

The more the players talk in the press, they are all lobbying to stay in Toronto. When they said management was going to blow up the team, the team was demoralized. Now the team seems to realize you can't get rid of everybody, now they play with more effort. Why me? Why not him? That seems to be the attitude.

Daniel Winnik traded to Pittsburgh.
Leafs get forward Zach Sill, a fourth in '15 and second in '16 drafts.

WOW !
Clarkson gone, entirely off Salary Cap !

Leafs got lucky. Had to take Horton back who has a similar contract(a bit more $, same length).
I am guessing the Leafs would be just fine with it if Horton never plays again. I may even say that is their secret hope(a sign of the times).

Hmmm ...
Phaneuf to the Flyers for Pronger

That's classic. Who knows?
Why not before the league cuts off this glitch and stops a team like Toronto from dramatically bringing its own cap down, and fixing bad long term contracts by trading for long term IR players.
Not sure why the Flyers would do that, cash out to Pronger (assuming the contract was not insured) combined over the next 2 seasons is only $1,050,000.....$525K each year.

That's crazy, I didn't realize the Pronger contract was up so soon. I was thinking it was a 9yr deal like Ilya Bryzgalov. So yeah, scratch that move lol
Yes, that and I was kidding.

Listening to McCown yesterday and he thinks the Leafs may trade Horton to Chicago , Rangers,LA or some other team with lots of money and little cap room, and in return get high draft picks and/or a player with a high salary that can help the Leafs. It depends on how much teams are willing to pay to get cap space.

Pronger is on a 7 year deal, hasn't played since the 2011-12 season (13 games).

Except those playoff bound teams do not want to weaken their rosters heading into the tourney.

You are right but come seasons end and teams having cap trouble going into 2015-16, trading Horton will be very feasible.

Edging ever closer to a better shot at Connor McDavid.
Dylan Strome would be my choice if the Leafs do not win the draft lottery.
