Leafs are picking 8th. Any ideas who the Leafs might pick? I think size and a good two way power forward, someone like Lucic. If they go with a defensemen the kid from Red Deer, Fleury I think his name is, looks good he is big, moves the puck and great in his own zone. Mind you these kids are not NHL ready, so most likely another year in junior and 2-3 years in the AHL, don't rush the prospects.
There was an article in the Star the other day listing the players Leafs may have a shot at, one was described as a big forward with speed. He is the one I want.

Backs out again. This is no use.
Trying to be funny. :blah:

I forgot about the draft lottery thing ... I see Florida bumped Buffalo to second.

1. Florida Panthers

2. Buffalo Sabres

3. Edmonton Oilers

4. Calgary Flames

5. New York Islanders

6. Vancouver Canucks

7. Carolina Hurricanes

8. Toronto Maple Leafs

9. Winnipeg Jets

10. Anaheim Ducks (from Ottawa Senators)

11. Nashville Predators

12. Phoenix Coyotes

13. Washington Capitals
I wonder if Oilers maybe interested in moving their pic or moving down the draft ...

Didn't see the article but I am guessing that player is Nick Ritchie of the Peterborough Petes. Big talented short on smarts. Should get smarter with maturity.

With Holland playing over 25 games ... Leafs have no 2nd round pic in 2014 and 2015 ( 2015 is LA for the Jonathan Bernier ) ... IF they lose Bolland then it costs Leafs 3 prospects ( 2 2013 drafts pics and this years 4th round pic ) ... Can Shanny first policy be stop trading draft pics for short term fixes ...

Funny...I asked 2 questions in the post you quoted and you didn't answer them...but here you are saying I don't answer questions. Nice.
Also funny...you say I repeat myself but you repeated yourself in your post..."no business like sports". So are you the kettle or the pot? I'm losing track.
Raps, Leafs...it's all MLSE...try to follow the program here and not get lost in the minor details. Big picture remember.
Find one question I have "refused to answer please".

Business is business.
You can fool yourself and say there is no business like sports (you repeated yourself with that statement remember)...but the essence of any business is the same: sell a product or service and make money.

Example: There are people out there that prefer one brand of automobile to another. Reasons such as brand, heritage, performance, price, value, etc etc. If your preferred brand of automobile suddenly didn't perform as well year after year, yet became more and more expensive, chances are you would switch to another brand that offers more value or you would tell them that you refuse to buy another car from them until the product improves. Eventually that company would either have to make improvements to its product (ie quality, price, value, etc) or fold.

If a movie franchise you loved started making crappy movies, people would stop paying to watch the sequels.
If your favourite pizza joint started letting the quality of their pizza slide, you would stop ordering from there.

So when it comes to MLSE, you are paying to watch a product that has essentially been substandard for decades yet has become more and more expensive to watch.

A business man would see this as a bad investment.
A fan would see this as supporting his team no matter what.

Are you a fan or a business man? Pick one.
Picking both is a contradiction in itself.
So you are saying there are no business men at the ACC that are fans of the team?

Teams cannot be afraid to trade many 2,3 and 4 picks. But they need to be sure they have the professional scouting in place for this to really work.

Some teams invest a lot in the draft but not enough in professional scouting.

He really is a classic troll.
Huh? "backs out again"???? "Classic troll"???

I've responded to every question you have asked. You have ignored mine repeatedly. The minute someone says something that you don't like to hear you call them a troll.

Kinda cowardly don't you think?

Here's what I think...deep down you know my points and philosophy make sense. But you have too much emotion invested into years of following this team. Agreeing with me would be admitting you have invested too much for too long with nothing in return and having to deal with disappointment year after year. You have a hard time separating the team from the organization. You don't realize that by supporting the team, you are directly supporting the organization which is totally taking advantage of their loyal fans.
So you choose to ignore that fact and pretend it's just about being a fan. Anyone who comes along and argues that your loyalty is contributing to the problem gets immediately called a troll.

As long as this organization has loyal fans dishing out cash regardless of performance, they will never change. I'm not the first person to say that, and won't be the last.

Richie was mentioned in the article, not a bad choice.

BRENDAN PERLINI of the Niagara IceDogs is the one I was thinking of.

So you are saying there are no business men at the ACC that are fans of the team?
What I'm saying is that someone who purely has good business sense wouldn't see continuing to buy tickets as a good investment because they are supporting an organization that is not returning value. Similar to the examples in my post.
A fan wouldn't make that connection and would spend the money (if they can afford it...many can't).
So the "business men" at the ACC are fans...or they have free tickets and use it as an opportunity to schmooze a client.
Therefore, to answer your question, there are no business men at the ACC that are also fans of the team. They are fans.

Seriously, you & your keyboard-warrior buddies here need to get together and have a discussion about better comebacks. Nothing but name-calling, troll-accusing, lame come-backs...all in an effort to deflect the real issues I'm bringing out in the open. So sorry to shatter the illusion for you.

I think it's funny. Cornered like rats and lashing out at someone who is providing a different perspective on what they hold dear. How dare I expose the organization that owns your team and have you actually think about why you are loyal? Wow!

Heck...I'm not charging you for this valuable insight so again, you're welcome. I consider it freeing brainwashed lemmings from their MLSE shackles!!!

Question: How many MLSE executives does it take to ass-rape a Leaf fan?

Answer: Trick question. Leaf fans consider it to be consensual.
Borrowed part of your post from another thread.

You seem to be confused, you have been calling us 'lemmings' from the start. That is name calling, but when we do it to you it is questioned by you.
You are insulting in every other post but always jump to the position of victim when it suits you.

Talk about a keyboard warrior, you should look in the mirror.
Look up keyboard warrior, will likely see your picture "see him".
You come on these threads yelling insults all over the place and saying Leafs suck, Leaf fans are lemmings, but some how we are the keyboard warriors ?

Not sure you have figured this out yet but what is it you have .... how did you put it .. ah yes another insult ... "Cornered like rats and lashing out at someone who is providing a different perspective on what they hold dear. How dare I expose the organization that owns your team and have you actually think about why you are loyal? Wow!"
You repeated well known historical facts ... several times. What is it you think you have shed new light on that we Leaf fans did not know ?

Because that is all he has.

I clearly kicked his ass and proved that the (greedy) organization is highly motivated to build a winner due to the hundreds and hundreds of millions, if not over a billion, dollars it bring in in increased revenue.

When one of his criticisms of Shanahan was that "...and he doesn't even have any heritage with the team" I again showed that has no bearing and asked him to back up his statement, he basically dodged and turtled and even played dumb. No desire at all on his part to debate. He only posts about the Leafs here on TERB, so he clearly comes on board with only one purpose, to insult the Leafs and their fans.

So in that light, Craig, I am disappointed you'd resort to calling him a keyboard warrior. It implies some bra very and ability to debate, but IMO, he has displayed neither. His arguments are pathetic. He was easy pickings. He is simply a troll.

As I look into the future I see a response from saggyboobs00 in which he will:

A)use insults

B)provide no factual rebuttal to back up his "motivation" and "Shanahan" comments and

C)will most likely not even try to engage in meaningful, honest debate.

He's blown his load (which might have been a small drop or two--he is impotent) and has nothing left to come back with. A one trick pony (which is an insult to ponies).
