For sure it's Reimer's fault that the Leafs scored all of one goal on Saturday. How many teams and how often are teams going to win by scoring 1 goal. Please answer that.
You know the answer that yourself.

But here, I repeat it.

Up by a few goals, Riemer and the Leafs find a way to lose the game, and the series.

In a tight defensive game the rematch, the Bruins try the rebound plays all night and finally they bang it in.

Sure, Carlyle could start Reimer again in the next game against Boston, but I doubt it.

couldn,t have said it better myself. you mess with the bull, sooner or later you get the horn. and he will get his, guaranteed.
I remember one year in the playoffs, the battle of Alberta, Messier was playing on a hurt knee.

Gilmour was playing for the Flames. Needless to say, it was rough series, and Dou Gllmour got filled in a few times.

Then on one play in offensive zone, Messier was in front of his goal, and Glimour staked towards him from the boards, and took out his knee, on a knee to knee hit.

Messier could not skate like he could, and Gilmour was determine that was to be the case.

That's hockey!

They have style? Having it, they are giving RC more grey hair, if that's possible :D.
The Leafs have played pretty well lately, even though the toughest two games in the past two weeks they came up short against good competition.

Otherwise, after that Friday night game in Columbus, where it seemed like the team was more interested in the Pittsburgh game at home on a Saturday night, the Leafs have been good.

Leafs have been good this way, and the stats prove it. The Leafs are in the top 10 in goals against in the league. That is remarkable.

I mean, the Leafs just are not a tight defensive unit, as some teams like to play the game, trap style, or whatever. But the Leafs are in the top 10 in goals against.

Goal tending has been good, but to be in the top 10 GA, the team is playing better defense up and down the ice.

It does not seem like it when we watch the games, but tonight, another low scoring game, without many chances at either end. One gaffe cost the Leafs the game tonight.

Minnesota's offense tonight was non-existent. If the puck did not bounce off Kessel's skate, they might not have scored either.

The Leafs offense tonight was non-existent too, and they should have won the game, but a give-away and bad bounce. Did not think the Leafs were able to win these types of games, but seems like they are learning to do win this way.

David Clarkson will take more time to get use to being a Leafs. He is faster than I remember, and he just not use to playing hockey this way. In New Jersey and most teams in the league how the play the game, chip it out, then chip it in.

The Leafs like to rush. Clarkson has some foot speed, but I guess he has not played rush the puck through the netural zone much in Jersey. Just play him with with Kadri. Get open, and Kadri gets you the puck.

After last night game you still say the Leafs have style? Well, they play the style of hockey called: specialty teams ONLY, plus tending goal. Those are the area they are best, right now. Other than that, they have played most of this season in the free wheeling style they are not totally built for, I'd rather like to see they go back to systematic and well-planned out style of last year. It is not the shots against that worries me, it is their unwillingness and/or incapability to play as a team especially in the defense aspect that lead me to think: either they will start to lose bunches or realize before it is too late that individual effort will only win games short term.

you can't just play loosey-goosey hockey like they are doing, and hoping that the goalies will catch all the rubber they have given away! Fail to clear their own zone, passing blindly to opponents, turn over in the neutral, get caught up ice carelessly, reluctant to forcheck, fail to cover sniper in the slot... RC can't complain when they get the W, but he is not happy.

For all the games they played so far, the only time I really like is the second period against Boston: they suddenly "remember" RC's system and played the best period of hockey of the year.

Well this should be fun ... without top three centers.

On another note John Scott claims to have turned over a new leaf. Pardon the pun. :D
I would dress Orr and McLaren.

Exactly what the Sabres are hoping for, Scott will no doubt be ready for anything tonight. I imagine he will be instructed to let the leaf goons start whatever they plan on starting so they would get the extra penalties. I actually hope the leafs spend the entire game trying to play "pay back" I'm sure the Sabres would enjoy all the power plays, if they can turn the other cheek.

The way Buffalo is playing they seem to need a 5 on 2 to generate any chances.

It will be interesting to see how the Sabres players play for Nolan. It's too bad it took so long for him to get another shot as a head coach, if anything I think he has a knack of getting guys to play for him.

I'm expecting to read a bunch of posts saying how pleased people are because the Leafs outshot the Sabres. Or is it that suddenly getting more shots is not such an important factor?

Why is Bernier getting an inordinate number of starts. Granted he has a better save percentage and looks smoother but Reimer has a better win percentage. How long since Reimer played back to back, especially after a loss. In spite of what they say it's like management had their minds made up from the get go who they want to be number one.
