When the Leafs were doing decently well before February, Ron Wilson kept bitching about their poor penalty kill. Well the penalty kill in the last 29 games is much better.

As the new NHL season approaches I have good reason to believe that this is the year the Leafs get back into the playoffs. Maybe a first round exit, but the playoffs for sure.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have some big plans for the next few years leading up to their 100th anniversary in 2017. the organization would like to host the Draft, the All-Star game and the Winter Classic outdoor game.
I knew about the Draft and outdoor game, but the All-Star game was a new one on me.
I would love to see the Leafs get all three.

Leafs 2011 season begins;
Thursday Oct 6, vs Montreal

They play five home games, before they begin their road schedule in Boston on Oct 20.[/QUOTE

So how'd this season work out for you fella!

Such a theory does make sense. Especially right around the time RW was flip-flopping goalies after Reimer returned from injury. Wilson If I recall correct, basically went with the 'hot' hand, or whoever kept winning (no pressure there ). Thus Gus could play maybe 1-2 games, them Rimes would go for 1 or 2. It seemed to compound the free fall of losses.

I'm unsure why under the new coach could the team not better turn things around. Perhaps the 'damage is done' thinking got in their heads.
Such a young team is good in some ways like speed, stamina, and recovery from injury. However I think its real dangerous when a veteran leader like Shane Doan, or similar is not present to push and keep the young bucks in line. Maybe a real asset to this team this summer could be a battle hard warrior who has done time in the trenches like Jason Arnott.

One thing is certain, the work ethic needs to be through the roof with whoever remains in Leaf land.
Ah Kathleen, the voice of reason so often, beauty, brains, sports fan and alot of fun naked!

Montreal and Toronto fans deserve better, but I believe that Montreal will be there before MLSE does anything good.

Indeed they do. The Kessel-Seguin trade off will remain the most glaring example of how costly giving away 1st rounders can be. Yes I like the points from Kessel, but had no idea how soft he would play. Its always 20-20 in the end.
I loathe trading 1st Rounders, and to trade them without lottery protection was awfully stupid. I think Boston still would've taken the deal had Burke added something like a top 5 stipulation since they just wanted Phil The Thrill outta town. Look at the NBA, every deal for a pick involves some form of lottery protection.

On another note regarding picks, had the Leafs moved Schenn, Grabo, Kulemin & McArthur for the 4 reported 1st rounders (according to Dreger & Burke who didn't list the names) they'd be looking up at Columbus in the standings right now.

Kessel was vote "most easily intimidated player" by his peers.
By his peers, yeah right. 'It has to be in secret, only anonymously will we vote'. All the NHL peers who voted are easily intimidated by a survey. Chicken shits all.

Now there is a surprise answer. Gee did not see that one coming.:thumb:
MLSE does not call the shots anymore ... at least not without the approval of Bell Media.

Do you know who Rogers and Bell bought recently ? MLSE that's who they bought and so they are the same thing . MLSE still calls the shots .

Oh by the way you haven't given Terb a standings or record update on the Leafs recently .

Yes, OK. Point to Guyroch. However, that said, it is no longer the same company. Unless you are incredibly stupid you knew what I meant ... oh wait look at who I am 'talking' to.

You really are that stupid. I did not believe it at first, but time proves it true.

doesn,t seem to bother brad marchand.

But Marchand is on a team with alot of size, they like to play physical and a talented group as well. It's easy to play on a team like that.

Just watch what other teams do when they play against him, he is knocked around all the time, usually after the whistle.

kathleen my hats off to you. your opinions are well thought out, and well said!
Agreed, Kat makes solid points. I believe it has already been said about her beauty and brains. Add in her love of hockey, she's a winner! :)

You screw up a post and I am the stupid one ? I ask you for a standing update cause you feel the need to give a lottery update on the Raptors and don't do it for the Leafs and you again consider that stupid . Why is asking somebody to post a standings update to somebody who constantly does it make me stupid .

I have a little faith left in you. I think you WILL eventually figure it out for yourself. It is not that difficult.

Did someone actually suggest (maybe Burke) that the Leafs could have gotten first rounders for MacArthur or Kulemin? That's laughable.

Also that is Marchand's game. He plays to bother opponents, to get under their skin. He is getting them to do exactly what he wants, get them off their game.

The only people who should be called stupid or feel stupid are Leafs fans who actually thought this roster could make the playoffs . Also if one poster calls another poster stupid it doesn't make a poster stupid it's one poster's opinion .

It was reported on the local sports networks ... maybe the source was Burke, in fact I believe it was.
Not as far fetched as you want us to believe, in my opinion, the 28th, 29th or 30th pick for those guys ... I can see it.

Stupid is the people actually paying to watch this Leaf roster go through the motions and play like they don't give a shit . Heck there are two OHL teams and one AHL team in this market . They need support more then those heartless punch of hockey players that this GM has put together .

HOF, I'd have to agree both Toronto and Montreal deserve better. I also think Montreal is on a faster track to improvement. I just read about the change in GM, and sure much more will come to make them much better before camp starts. The best asset Montreal has over Toronto at the moment is Price. I think a goalie is the key element to build around, and Price is one of the best. Hey, next time you have me naked, don't get any funny idea about the Habs logo and marker..lol

Ah Kathleen, I'd like to introduce you to http://www.torontogirlfriends.com/girlfriends/sebelle. Sebelle has a HABS jersey that is tailored into an incredible form fitting dress that just covers the rear essentials. Now if you were to wear your TML jersey (let's make it into a dress) and we had a threesome....

I'm going to Montreal late next week, so I'll pick up a box of HABS condoms, then you'll really HABS me in you;) xo
