Scrivens looked great.
I believe in riding the hot hand and I would go with him at least until he loses.
So much for the hot hand.

This does not mean it would have been any better if Gustavsson had started.

I think the defense left the goalie(s) hung out to dry on some of those goals.

Poor effort all around.

It sure was a disappointing loss by the Leafs, but those things happen during an 82-game season. The effort put in by the first two lines & the defencemen was a joke. The best two lines of the entire evening for the Leafs were the #3 & #4 lines. You rarely will get a win when either of the first two lines aren't your best lines of the evening.

Goaltending was average. The goalies were left out to dry by their defencemen on many goals, but a couple of big saves on those goals might have helped inspire some of the players.

Most of the team looked dead tired. Maybe they should have skipped the morning skate & stayed in bed to conserve their energy, who knows. Kessel looks hurt. Cody Franson played okay & i hope he plays in the next game. Phaneuf looked terrible on some of the goals. Maybe it's time to rest the captain for a game. He's put in way too much minutes this early in the season & it's beginning to show. I'd sit Schenn for at least one more game.

All in all, the Leafs will bounce back & will hopefully come out victorious in their next game.

By the way, what's wrong with Colton Orr? He's barely played this entire season. If he's healthy enough to play, maybe they should do him a favor & trade him.

He could be placed on Waivers today and its seems quite possible that there would be no takers. You can get what he delivers at $600K-$700K from a boderline pro, and there would be no guarantees beyond this year (or in some cases even for the rest of the year if that player is on a two way deal). You would need to pay Orr $1M guaranteed this year and next.

Come on dude, you KNOW the D left the goalies to fend for themselves more then a few times.
Three times after a goal is scored a second goal comes within a minute.
Happens once, OK, D got caught sleeping.
Twice 'What the Fuck ?'.
A third time and you know the D has 'left the building'.

Guyroch may still make an appearance, the day is young.

We need Reimer back.......

The question is when will he be back!?!?
Do not expect him back anytime soon. I believe he has a concussion and will be back, but not until mid-December at the earliest.
I wanted to believe it was not, but alas, I know that GMs are not always honest with us fans. Go figure.

I thought Gustavsson was beginning to play a bit better. Three wins in four games, then Wilson decides to try an unproven goalie in his first NHL action. I think if Gustavsson played in the Columbus game then given the Bruin game it may not have been so bad. I am coming to the end of my rope where Wilson is concerned.

I thought he was wrong too but then hindsight beats foresight every time. It is easy to blame Wilson especially when you don't like him(I don't like him). I wonder if he has the respect of the players. He hasn't had them "up" for the last 2 games and I believe motivation is part of coaching.
St. Louis tonight, lets see which team shows up.
