One thing that Habs and Leaf fans can agree on together, is both cities deserve better from the end product. Montreal has a rich history, Toronto the same. Both fans love their teams and both these clubs should be standing with the Wings, Rangers and Bruins right now. Not falling further toward the cellar of the NHL basement. Totally unacceptable Montreal and Toronto sit where they currently do.
Well said

Now, I can absolutely agree with you Kathleen. The people that pay all of their wages from top to bottom deserve better and there are fundamental issues such as:

1. Gary Bettman wants US based teams not Canadian.
2. There are too many teams.
3. Should there be a cap on import players. It's called the National not the World Hockey League.
4. Management is always the real problem. "Attitude reflects leadership"
5. The agents are just as bad as management.
6. Players should play and shut up otherwise. Prove yourself on the ice before yappin' off of it.

The only way to create this sort of change is collectively nobody attend the next 3-5 home games and make sure they are televised.

Management of MLSE doesn't care about winning as long as the TPP is growing.

Management of the HABS doesn't care either, they have stuck with players that have no grit. When they get someone with balls, they get dumped on. Bad management!

Now, I know what would make me feel much better about this season is Kathleen and Sebelle wearing their favourite teams jersey and jumping my bones tearing off my officals jersey;)

TML fans who were rally crying, We're going to the Cup just 4 months ago .
Gee, I don't recall anybody saying that. I imagine you can find a quote to prove me wrong.

Otherwise it's a typical case of exaggeration by Leaf fan haters. Playoffs looked pretty good, but nobody at all was saying Cup finals.

Habs have Subban(sp), Leafs do not. Would you trade Schenn for Subban straight up? I would in a heartbeat.

Oh how the mighty TML fans who were rally crying, We're going to the Cup just 4 months ago now want heads to roll
No one said that. No Leaf fan said that, not even in joking.
You got to stop believing Bob McCown and his posse, he does not know much about hockey, especially Leaf Nation.

I agree.

He(HOF) cannot, will not find any Leaf fan that said any such thing.
Make the playoffs, sure. I said they would make the playoffs, but no one mentioned Cup and Leaf in the same sentence other then possibly 'the Leafs will not win the Cup again this year'.

As a Leaf fan, what has happened the past month is disappointing. It is more surprising when you consider that the Leafs were almost in 1st place in November in the conference. The farm team was in first place at that time too.

Fast forward to March, and the Leafs are heading towards the bottom of the standings while the Marlies are still in first place I heard. So what went wrong?

Defensive zone coverage has always been weak all season. Not having that good center down the middle is a killer because the center is the most important forward in the defensive zone coverage. Bozak is having a good year offensively for him at least, but he is a defensive liability when he's on the ice. Garborski, is not bad. Not great though, just adequate.

The Leafs current third line, Connonlley, Lombardi, Armstrong or Kulemin, is a 10 million dollar third line, who really aren't even that good. Not getting your money's worth is a real killer in the cap system.

The Leafs defense, it seems to me that Scheen, and to a lesser extent, Phaneuf, would be better suited on a trap team. Don't worry about making plays the pass out of your zone, just get it out off the glass. Too many times Scheen has given the puck away under no pressure because he was looking to make a pass up ice. What a dummy. Komersirik is washed up.

Ron Wilson will be fired, I think, but it is not his fault. On Mats Sundin night, they lose 5-0 to Montreal. Is that Ron Wilson's fault? Then they honour another team from the past, and five minutes into that must win game against Washington they were down 2-zip. Was that Wilson's fault? The fault is with the players. There is not enough heart on this team. You need a coach to motivate you for games like that?

Could continue but that's enough Leaf ranting for tonight.

Hockey is really interesting in Toronto. First, it is the love for game. Second, all the off ice hysteria in the media and the sniping between the media, Leaf management and the fanatics in the stands singing "Fire Wilson! Fire Wilson!" That look on Wilson's face, condemned. Priceless!

That's Toronto. Lots to talk about. :frusty:

Go Wilson Go!

Go Wilson Go!

Go Wilson Go!

Somehow, you just don't feel sorry for any of this over-paid stiffs, on the ice or behind bench or the REMF.

That, and everyone loves a public lynching. Fun for the whole family.

Good thing about tonight is no pregame ceremony that requires the attendance of the Leafs.

The way they've been playing, I don't think they realized their attendance was required for the games either.
At least the first 10 minutes anyway.

I'd have to think Gus. Reimer is the future, but very shaken now. Though it won't happen, I'd send down Reimer to get action and his groove back. Bring Scrivens and let Gus run with the next 10.

Up front, Connelly would be playing between Lupul and Kessel tonight. Being on the 3rd line at his salary is nuts. If healthy, he is earning his pay on the top line.
Second line would have Grabs between Mac and Bozak.

I worry that 5 pts back is too much, and Burke waited too long. Carlyle likes a physical team, I'm hoping he can restore checking machines out of Komi, Dion and Schenn. I'd also be sending Kulemin either to the farm, or on a true checking line. He's done nothing on the 2nd line. Crabb I'd send down and have put Orr in his position.

I'm anxious to see how a different perspective behind the bench translates on the ice. The line matches, and overall chemistry.
If I thought it would help Reimer and he would show up, I would pay his way for a hour with you Kath. lol

I would also send Reimer down for at least ... well too close to the end of the season for a 10 game stint.

Bozak I may move off the top line and try Connolly there, but I would keep Bozak at center, he is a good faceoff guy.

I have wanted to make Orr one of those guys who just goes out and stands in from of the other team's net. 'Ignore the crap Colton and just stand there and try to create havoc and knock the puck into the net' would be my instructions to Orr.

Toronto Maple Leaf is "next year country". "Next year country" is for losers. Imagine if your GF kept saying "next year".

Final score 3-1........Habs still have that 1

When your in last place it is best you don't mock any other team as it will more often than not come back to bite your ass.

When in last place and virtually out of the playoff hunt, you can mock whoever you want because you can only go up next year! When was the last time the leafs made the playoffs? 7 years ago and it's gonna be real close and probably not happen for them again. When in last place, nothing bites the ass because nothing gets under it.
