Or stay 6 pt back. The Leafs should at least 2 pts this weekend, 4 pts would be perfect, 3 pts is good but 2pts this weekend is more realistic.

That's what happens when you fall behind. Not only do you have to do well yourself (over which you have some control) but you have to hope for out of town results (for which you have zero control) to go your way. Ain't gonna always happen.

I agree shack. Thinking that one can "catch up" later in the season is a bad move for any team when the first quarter of the season has gone wrong!

Damn! The Leafs lost 2 valuable points the last two Saturdays (Ottawa and the Pittsburgh "B" team) because they can't score in shootouts. We need those points.

Good show of confidence by Ron Wilson tonight by letting Nazem Kadri take the last Leaf overtime shootout shot.
Seeing as Kadri went second, Wilson didn't know it was going to be the last attempt.

Hmm, good point.
I was listening on the radio while doing other things and was only half paying attention.
Great game by Leafs though.

It was.

I liked how even in the last minute of regulation, they were all over the Bruins in their own end instead of just hanging on to gain the single point like I used to see so much. Lots of enthusiasm.

You show me any team with stable goaltending and you will find coaching changes don't occur in that organization .. Okay unless your Jersey lol ..
There are so many factors intertwined into the success/failure of a team/coach/GM that it is usually impossible to point out single factors as being responsible for either.

No team will do well without good goaltending, hence a coach cannot succeed without good goaltending. It doesn't mean he knows more or less or that the players respect him more or less, but if he doesn't have a good goalie he will fail, regardless.

I say a great goalie can get get a lottery team into 8 to 6 th spot ... You look at the pass top worse teams in the league in the past 10 years and you will see teams that don't have good to great goaltending ... Great goaltending Josepth and Eddie got a Leaf team so far but at some point other elements of a team have to exist to get to the next level ... The Canadians rode their goaltending so far last year in the playoffs but eventually your weakness will be play out ..
I'm no habs fan, by no means, but I think they just ran out of gas. I mean yes they are in tremendous shape but common, they were going at a such a pase (sp) that sometimes we stop thinking of them as humans and think that this is the norman because of the money they make and everyoneelse plays at the same pase (sp)

I'm just saying.

It's good to see that we are finally heading in the right direction. It's better to have burk at the helm than Gilligan ( JFjr)
We have a good core of players on the Leafs and Marlies, we have a GM that will work his butt off for his own reputation.
I still, however, not happy with the coach, the leafs have a young team with a few vets, Imo I think we need to get a younger coach,
maybe Ted Nolan or Gilmore, what about the Great One ?

You know, the boys are doing all they can to try to make this exciting and to give the fans "hope" about the playoffs. Kudos to them. Unfortunately they are just not getting any help from the hockey gods as Carolina and Buffalo keeps on winning as well. Good for the boys for keeping on fighting...but there just isn't enough games left...

Gets no help again as Rangers won in Shootout...now 1 ahead of Buffalo and 5 ahead of the leafs. Big game with Buffalo vs. Carolina. I guess at this point, it'll be more interesting if Carolina wins...then Caroline and Buffalo will all be at 88 pts, with the Leafs 4 behind both...
