True enough. And then there'd be the competence issue.
The man is so incompetent he was fired as volunteer.

He was fired because the school felt it was safer for them to do so. How long had he coached and now all of a sudden he can't do the job? Right.True enough.

Can't disagree about a guy suspected of being a crack user being dangerous to an institution that lets him volunteer as a role-model for kids. If he was an ordinary joe, and not someone carrying political weight, the howls to have him removed would be universal. But there were rumblings of dissatisfaction from players and parents that pre-dated all the current fuss.He was fired because the school felt it was safer for them to do so. How long had he coached and now all of a sudden he can't do the job? Right.
Agreed.Doug Ford Senior seems to have been a pretty capable guy. Rob Ford never did a damned thing for that business and has never had a real job in his life.
Absolutely nothing wrong with choosing public service, but don't try and pass Rob off as some sort of business man when he's not.

Rumblings from parent and players, is not new for most. I doubt he was Newt Rocknie, especially watching his style in council. Spending serious time on the bench is not new for a first year player, especially on a good team. The Ravens were good for a number of years, when they had a team. It was dropped a few years ago in favour of more useful, read cheaper ubisex, sports like fencing and team frizbee; yes dumb.Rob's Wiki bio also sadly notes that although he made the Ravens, he spent his one season in varsity football entirely on the bench. Someday someone who didn't live through the foolish mess his election resulted in will write a one-act tragicomic opera like Pagliagcci about Rob.
Not at all, he was fired before the crack business was really big news, he was fired for bragging about how without him those kids would be out shooting people and doing crack. He was fired because the school felt it was safer for them to do so. How long had he coached and now all of a sudden he can't do the job? Right.
You are mistaken there Old Jones. Council did not want him to pay it back. In fact council overwhelming concluded in a vote that Ford would not have to pay the money back.IYHO. In fact the episode made it crystal clear: The one and only thing that kept Rob in office was that Council ordered him to pay back the three thou himself. If they'd just docked his pay by that amount, or whatever punitive amount was reasonable, we'd have a different Mayor now.
A lesson worth learning, and not a penny of taxpayer cost, apart from the paycheques Rob cashed for his time talking to lawyers and sitting in courts—likely a good deal more than $3,150. What Magder will have to pay for Rob's filing at the SCC I can't say, but Rob's on his own hook for the price of his skate in the lower court.
http://www.thestar.com/news/city_ha...yearold_who_triggered_rob_fords_downfall.htmlMayor Ford said that Adam Chaleff-Freudenthaler (whose partner apparently works for a certain newspaper) is the ring leader of the small group of political activists persecuting him. That group probably also includes Clayton Ruby who is providing pro bono legal service for them.
Someone should tell bumblefuck that the conspiracy is even bigger then he fears.Mayor Ford said that Adam Chaleff-Freudenthaler (whose partner apparently works for a certain newspaper) is the ring leader of the small group of political activists persecuting him. Not sure where you got that 60% figure from. If we look at approval ratings, it is rare that any sitting mayor, prime minister, president ever get more than 50%. For example, I don't think President Obama smokes crack (not saying that our mayor does either) but I wouldn't be surprised if his approval rating is under 50%.I'd guess close to 60% of Toronto now backs that small group of those persecuting him

Nah, the real assholes are few in number, the Vaughn's, the Ruby's, that wacko ass-pinch woman, and the Toronto Star city beat crew. The approval ratings are something different and very much volitile - look at BC.Someone should tell bumblefuck that the conspiracy is even bigger then he fears.
I'd guess close to 60% of Toronto now backs that small group of those persecuting him and his probable crack smoking.
How many businesses and jobs did Adam Chaleff-Freudenthaler ever create? Or, is he one of those social parasites who live off the hard work of others? And as vice-chair of the library board, to which he was appointed under David Miller, Chaleff-Freudenthaler was one of the most vocal opponents of Rob Ford-proposed budget cuts that council ultimately rejected
Mihevc, who endorsed Chaleff-Freudenthaler for trustee, scoffed. “Adam is a community advocate, and he believes in good government,” he said. “He’s a sharp thinker, and he believes in the city. I say all power to him
Its so true.Nah, the real assholes are few in number, the Vaughn's, the Ruby's, that wacko ass-pinch woman, and the Toronto Star city beat crew. The approval ratings are something different and very much volitile - look at BC.
If there was a viable alternate candidate he would be in real trouble because , let's face it, he isn't that bright. However, the opposition appear even dumber at the moment.
Oh Rocky! Considering you're trying to support a Mayor who never earned a paycheque except from family and taxpayers (otherwise known as the public teat) I think you should have found firmer ground, for your attack. How many businesses and jobs did Adam Chaleff-Freudenthaler ever create? Or, is he one of those social parasites who live off the hard work of others?
Whatever, at least he isn't wasting the court's time launching frivolous lawsuits. If Adam is so concerned about "good governance" he should run for office instead of sniping from the sidelines. How many businesses and jobs did Rob Ford ever create?
Your hate on for Ford is laughable. You said that "Rob dropped out of university; the only job he's ever had is the a year and a bit at the FAMILY label plant doing 'sales'." but our last Mayor, you know, the Harvard educated one who raised taxes over and over and ballooned the city's debt with not much else to show for it other than a than a garbage strike was so much better. Again, laughable!Where are the facts to support that claim? Rob dropped out of university; the only job he's ever had is the a year and a bit at the FAMILY label plant doing 'sales'. If Doug was doing 'service' other than rescuing Wee Robbie, and making money making labels, you'll have to tell us about it. Meantime Dad's old election machine was being oiled up to drop Rob into the other FAMILY business: Etobicoke ward politics where his buffoonery and bombast made Mayor Holyday quite testy on many a recorded occasion. Apart from that 'sales' gig Rob's paycheques have always come from the public teat. It's no wonder he treated his Council gig as his by right and used his City letterhead to beg favours from lobbyists.
One can only speculate about why the oldest Ford might have found the label business getting boring, but if he wanted into the other FAMILY business, the current occupant was in the way. What better time to stoke baby bros' ego and take advantage of the times to run him as Mayor. With only Gino-Boy Mammoliti to buy off with promises on the right and a left side melee of the undistinguished and unelectable splitting any other vote, it woulda been a walk even if they were running the video at Dundas Square and Rob was caught texting with both thumbs at 100kph thru Kensington.
Even if I give you their generous and selfless desire to do public service, no one cares as long as they keep up the lying boasts about lowering taxes and gravy-gobbling. Certainly no one's advancing that theory on the record to date. Look up the recent debate on replacing the North St Lawrence Market for Doug's high-minded idea of making a permanent contribution to his city.
And then there'd be the competence issue.
That's a stretch. How many jobs did David Miller ever create vs. Ford. I suspect you will be able to provide accurate data. BTW you can't count tax-payer funded public sector jobs as part of your number. As we all know, those are easy to increase.Oh Rocky! Considering you're trying to support a Mayor who never earned a paycheque except from family and taxpayers (otherwise known as the public teat) I think you should have found firmer ground, for your attack.
