Oh and one more thing Fatume, without the minorities this country would be nothing.

What kind of idiotic comment is this? Marco give your your head a smack. Without the minorities this country would still be something , dare I say a much safer place to live. It seems that the minorities are more prone to committing crimes in Toronto. Now I'll be accussed of racial profiling. The truth does hurt.

well right now its dominated by one group. It would be nice to see things even out. Just my opinion.
What if I wrote a company memo that said that my department was 80% Asians and only 20% whites. I want to reduce the asian dominating group by firing a bunch and hiring whites to "even things out"

Guess what would happen to me????
Fired on the spot and accused of that R term again

Dominated by one group that has done a real good job of developing this country. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about non-white dominated countries around the world. Some of you may see this as a racist comment, but if somebody can prove me wrong then I'll gladly eat my words.

Fatume, could you please elaborate on what you are getting to? It seems in some people's minds, immigrants can do no good. If they don't find work, they are accused of people lazy and a strain to the system. If they come over and be successful, they are accused of stealing jobs. The asian people you speak of brought a lot of capital and invested a lot in Canada when they came. That's how they got here. There children also become positive contributors to the economy people they usually become university graduates and professionals.

its true according to police reports and jails , visable minority makes up the majority of crime which includes : terrorism, shootings, murder and robbery . stats dont like , visit any jail or look at the crime stats , they also live off the welfare system which hardworking canadians pay heavy tax to support them and thier numerous kids , hows that for diversity .

?? Do you have any idea about what is going on economically around the world? Hong Kong and Singapore were voted the most financially free cities for commerce in the world. There are nations in the world with just as educated a population as the European countries. Infact, many people tend to see the European nations as lazy socialists, true or not.

Japan with tremendous help by the Americans following WWII. Read your history books.
I read my history books thank you very much. You asked a simple question I gave you a simple answer. Don't be so condescending. Perhaps you should elaborate on your question.

I'm not getting at anything. I am responding to the comments made by Marco. As far as I can tell Canada was fine with the status quo. If it changes so be it, but for somebody saying it is changing for the better I take offense to that. How can it be changing for the better when there was nothing wrong with it in the first place. If anything it is changing for the worst.

Getting back to the original post .. I would like Marco to recant that statement. Failing that the mods should remove it.

Well I'm not advocating for firing people to even things out. My personal preference is living in a society that's balanced out where I'm not so much a minority. Regarding the race card I agree its very over used.

As I said before the truth does indeed hurt and when somebody cannot argue their point of view intelligently they resort to personal attacks. As for trailer parks, they really aren't all that common in Canada. You are obviously heavily influenced by American television or u wouldn't have made a comment like that.

Fatume I don't think its racist. But I think those that fear minorities becoming the majority take offense to that. Just my measely opinion. Look forward to not being a minority any more. That's all. Which by the way does not mean much as in many parts of the world the majority holds little power and are also oppressed by minorities. But without immigration Canada's declining birth rate would have really damaged its progress.
