Lol Hockey. A rink the size of a back garden and the goalie the same size as the net lol. No wonder the sport has no skill and the best tactic is to dump the puck down the ice and a big Saskatchewan farm boy to plow people into the boards. Most of the goals are scrappy rebounds and take no skill.

zzzzz boring....
LOL. I've honestly thought about why soccer is more boring than hockey and I think it's because of the hits, or lack of. True, soccer is a contact sport, but every time there is the slightest form of physical contact, soccer players go down flopping around like a little bitch who got just farked up the ass. I get embarassed for them just watching. Also, what's with all the soccer players wearing girly hair bands or whatever they're called. These guys don't even bother trying to hide the fact it's a gay sport.

I have an opinion of what Burke has on the table.

Another deal with Chicago. A big one.

I have no basis' on which to form this hunch, it is just a ... feeling.
I know how far fetched this may sound and I understand I am more likely off base then on.

With out further ado.

I have a feeling that Toews(or Kane) is on his way to the Leafs.
My theory is based on the fact that Chicago still has some salary to clear to be able to meet the cap or sign/call up some really cheap players.
They already have zero chance to defend the Cup, why not get some decent cheap players in return(if it is even being considered).
Kulemin, Gunnarsson, J. Mitchell, Grabovski, etc, yes I know, but like I said they already have zero chance of winning in '10/'11.
Leafs could also take Huet off their hands and bury him on the Marlies and maybe even squeeze a first round draft pick out of the Hawks.

It is just a theory, based on a feeling I have.

Percentage chance of this happening ?

Zero.

They have pretty much looked after their cap issues, and the 'Hawks will not trade one of their core players.

You're expecting Chicago to trade one of the premier players in the NHL (Kane or Toews) for a bunch of spare parts ?

Not gonna happen, sir.

Yes, I hear you. Like I said I doubt it is in the works. I was just ... having some fun/taking a shot in the dark.

Chicago has looked after their cap issues ? Let us take a look.

Niemi, the playoff goalie, remains unsigned.
They have nine forwards, including Stalberg, and four defencemen signed, only three D remain from the Cup winning team.

They have $3.6mil to sign/call up at least six to ice a team of 20.
That is an average of $500,000 per player to fill out the roster.

How much of that will Niemi eat up ? That is if they can re-sign him.

A trade is coming ... with the Leafs or some other NHL team, .... it will happen. Maybe not Toews or Kane(yes OK, I was reaching on that one), but I can see Seabrook or Sharp going in a trade.

On a side note, how many other NHL teams can(willing) take Huet off their hands and bury him on their AHL team so that he does not affect the cap ?

The Leafs aren't the only financially secure team in the league. The Blackhawks are capable of burying or buying out Huet almost as easily as Toronto is. What the 'Hawks have done is peel away the periphery of the Stanley Cup winning team, but I dare say they're not prepared to gut it.

I'll wager you on this one.

$50 to a charity of your choice if either Sharp or Seabrook are not on the Blackhawks roster for the beginning of the regular season.

$50 to a charity of my choice if they are both with the club at that time.

Buy out Huet ? Chicago ? He makes over $5mil for two more seasons, which means the buyout would be about $2.mil over four years, if I understand how the buy out works. Now the Hawks are down to less then $2mil to sign seven players, including two goalies.
No way, not happening.

This was just an opinion, on my part, anyway. That said, now that I have looked at it a little closer, I am sure a trade will happen before the start of the season ... unless they want to go with six $500,000 players, including a goalie.

I don't think you understand how the Buyout works.

If the Chicago Blackhawks buy out Cristobal Huet this summer, they would have to pay him $1,875,000 for each of the next four seasons, to not play for them. Doing this buyout would result in a cap hit of the same $1.875 M per season, instead of $5.625 M per season.

It would free up $3,750,000 in cap space for both this coming season, and 2011-12 .

Now the Blackhawks have ~ $7.35 M to spend on 6 players.

So, do you want to take my bet, or not ?

I understand how the buyout works, I just forgot to add the 'saved' money. Doh on my part.
They will pretty much be in the same position as they are now because I think Niemi will take up most of that 'saved' money anyway. They have to sign/call up eight or nine players with $3-$6mil.

As for the bet, I do not think I can spare $50 even for a good cause at this time. I can do $25.
