...eventually you get a big basket full of old gloves. But not one pair among them.
I have that problem more with socks than winter gloves. I just keep one pair, use them till they are falling apart and buy new ones

Wear mismatched gloves/socks. It’s a great conversation starter (at least with socks, haven’t tried gloves).

I also have that problem more often with socks. Last time we moved I gathered up all the odd socks and cut them into rectangles to use as shop cloths.

I know a guy who does the same for T-shirt, and underwear.

With socks I buy the same brand and style of black socks in quantity.

If I get develop a hole in one sock, I throw it away and keep it's partner in the back of my sock drawer, waiting for another single to join it when that single's partner develops a hole...

I used to do that but I'm on my feet pretty much all day for my job, plus I do a lot of walking outside of work so I go through those cheap black socks like a fat man goes through cupcakes. It was cheaper in the end to go with moreno wool work socks and hiking socks. Not only do they last longer and are very comfortable but they are also much more expensive.

They are Boss dress socks that I buy at The Bay. Not cheap at $31 for 2 pairs. But they fit my size 11 feet well, aren't too tight at the top but still stay up, and last quite a while...

As I do with most mid-level purchases, I relate it to the cost of hobbying. So $186 plus HST for 12 pairs of socks, that last me about 2 years, which is just a bit more than the cost of one 45 minute session at Flirt. :geek:

A co-worker once pointed out that I had on mismatched socks.
I replied, "I have another pair just like them at home."
Or as comedian Steven Wright would say: 'Yeah, I know, but to me they're the same because I go by thickness.'

I always see a single glove or a pair lying on the snowy ground of a Walmart or grocery store parking lot. I've lost plenty of gloves falling out of my pocket loading groceries or getting in or out of the car
