Imact on Humanity and All Living Creatures
David Suzuki is probably my favourate. Terry Fox is one of my favourates too. It is hard for me to decide on who should get the honour. There are some excellent points in this forum about why people who contribute to making a better world or contributing to humanity are seriously the types of people who should be on the list.
Technology wise, one of the most useful inventions to our everyday lives was the telephone, while medical cures and antibiotics have saved and/or millions of lives.
Medicare has contribruted to Canadians in more walks of live enjoying longer, healthier longitude. Without a medicare system things would probably be a lot worse for many Canadians.
In the scheme of these kinds of issues Don Cherry does not belong in the same catagory. Entertainers, like sports figures, while they bring incredible skill and fun to the game and make the game more popular are problably better to be catagorized in another catagory or different contest altogether. I may be a huge Gretzy fan and hold him in highest respect, but in the scheme of all living creatures, humanity and the universe, the most important contributions have and impact in sustaining life.
