Fact checking at debate by moderators was a mixed bag and they could have done
a lot better, Also they gave Trump 5 more minutes of speaking time

In all fairness they never called out Harris when she said

1 there is not one member of the United States military who is in active duty in a combat zone. While they are not at war in combat zones they have died in combat zones. She had no reason to exaggerate , or worse, not know the facts

That is a half lie

2 If Donald Trump were to be re-elected, he will sign a national abortion ban.” when he has said he will leave decision to each state . Again, I see no reason for her to state something as a fact when it is not she should of simply stated he had called for one in his appeal to evangelist and he can not be trusted ,

However they did give Tump time to respond and asked Trump to say he does not believe in abortion ban and he would not do so saying the question was irrelevant
so moderators they did their job

3 Trump called nazis “very fine people” at the Charlottesville “Unite the Right” rally
when his full quote excluded nazis. She should have left that comment out
as he has said other stuff just as bad

That was a full lie

4 “What you’re going to hear tonight is a detailed and dangerous plan called Project 2025 that the former president intends on implementing if he were elected again,” Harris declared. While that may be true, there is only circumstantial evidence he is
involved which he denies so she should of pointed out the evidence and the fact that he tells so many lies you cannot believe him

That was a half lie

In her defence, you need to keep things point simple to get voters attention, but it is still a half lie

5 Trump left us with highest unemployment since the great depression; the truth is since the great recession so no need to lie or not have facts correct

That was a half lie

While they did call out some Trump lies they missed a big one about nancy pelosi not calling out national guard during the riot as she never had the power to do that and fervently calls Trump a liar . That is his biggest lie that is so easily proved as he could have stopped the riot by calling out guards before the protest

Harris told 1 full lie 4 half lies which seems typical for a polititcian while trump told 33 half or full lies

BTW, Trumps camp is now stating Harris ear jewerly was an ear phone feeding her answers LOL

What next, she injected LSD into Trump with a 007 secret ring she got from James Bond when they shook hands causing him to be disorientated?

What is there to call out?
You just said that her statement was true.

-- Wait, looking again, I think what you were trying to say is that while her statement about war zones is true, "combat zones" are classified differently and there ARE people there.

I wouldn't have objected to the moderators asking to clarify that, but I can see why it didn't happen.

2 If Donald Trump were to be re-elected, he will sign a national abortion ban.” when he has said the opposite. Again, I see no reason for her to state something as a fact when it is not she should of simply stated he had called for one in his appeal to evangelist and he can not be trusted
Because this is an opinion on what Trump will really do.
Not something the moderators will fact check when he is right there to deny it.

Again, since Trump is right there to rebut it, not something the moderators would intervene on.

Assuming that's true, I would have been fine with them stepping in to correct that.

It seems to me that the moderators did their best to limit their fact checks to egregiously false simple statements that don't require interpretation rather than litigating every shade of nuance of what the two sides said.

You make good points but to ask opponent to correct a lie is wasting their valuable speaking time when it is authoritative if the moderaters do it but, yes, it is hard to decern what partial, or even full lies, should be called

I believe they called out Trump 5 times and not Harris once

I loved they called out the migrants eating cats (trump through in dogs) internet hoax and panicked by calling the mayor of the town ( I think it was) a liar

The Nancy Pelosi lie is the hugest lie of the night and can be easily rebuked as she did not have the power to call in national guard, they missed it and it was a lie they should have been prepared for as he has said it before

This concern mother has three tickets to the Taylor Swift concert in Toronto on November 15th. It was a special gift for her daughter who turns 13 that day. Her daughter has been a Taylor Swift fan forever, but because of Taylor’s endorsement of Kamala, she now has those tickets up for sale. Listen to her message to
@taylorswift13

Yeah, narrcisistic mom putting her politics ahead of her young daughter's innocent fun. Even admits Taylor Swift is not likely to hear it but "it's worth a shot". That's real family values right there! I'm sure that her daughter will never forgive her for it.

Probably already resents her attention whore mom by "helping"her with her makeup! Who else would have drawn the mismatched Snidely Whiplash moustache eyebrows on her cheek implanted over-the-hill-but-not-accepting-it face tightened face... :ROFLMAO: 🤡

At some level, it would cut into Chinese profit margins. Over time, it would encourage producers in Asia and likely Mexico to compete in those sectors.
Ok, I agree! DAMMIT!!!

There is a very simple economic rule that many people (and politicians) often ignore. If you want less of something, tax it. In this case, we want less Chinese exports into the U.S.
True but will this not cause more inflation? How will Trump bring down the inflation he's trying to paste on the Dems?

So in short, China and U.S. consumers would both pay the tariffs.
Yes, they will but are they giving any tax $$$$$ to the US government? Is it not just the consumer who will be if they buy the Chinese products??

I think this is one of these not so great counterarguments that seems to get lost in the emotions against Trump. The European Union is contemplating tariffs against China. I believe the Biden Administration left many or all of Trump's previous tariffs in place.

I know one powerful group that opposes tariffs..........Wall Street. Believe me, they have a lot of highly-paid economists on staff to back up their POV.
Trump will bring in much more tariffs than a Harris administration. The only tariffs Harris would more than likely bring in would have to do with the EV industry. Also, Biden nor Harris pitch tariffs and tax revenue like your cult leader tries to do.

I'm always intrigued by these kinds of tweets - where they link a piece of video that doesn't show what they say it does.
Do they just assume their readership never watches things?
And Mitchel laughs when it is pointed out his sources are flat out lying to him.

I'd say it's a pity that trolling and spamming isn't against Terb rules, but hate speech is against terb rules and it doesn't stop Frankfooter from praising rape murder and kidnapping with the goal to exterminate the Jews from river to sea with his campaign of lies and disinformation. so...

Trumps hair brained scheme of tariffs on Chinese goods was suppose to help American manufacturers be more competitive. Like everything else it was a massive failure. The Chinese retaliated by crippling US farming causing massive bailout package and costing Americans much more on Chinese goods which was a major cause of inflation. Also remember how US auto manufacturers couldnt get Chinese computer chips for a couple years basically shutting the industry down? Do you think that wasnt intentional ? Trump also caused massive inflation by illegally taxing Canadian steel and aluminum driving up the prices of everything made with these metals by over 100%. Why do you think cars and trucks cost so much now? If the tariffs were suppose to help Mexico that is the most idiotic things I have ever heard.

I have and I don't see it! Sorry.

Do you agree with Trump about what his tariffs accomplished?

Donald Trump:
The tariff will be substantial in some cases. I took in billions and billions of dollars, as you know, from China. In fact, they never took the tariff off because it was so much money.
thats the hilarious part is conservatives are so stupid they didnt realize the money from tariffs comes from Americans not the Chinese

I explained the economics of it here.

Biden has kept Trump's Chinese tariffs. Canada and Europe are adding tariffs.

It's really quibbling with Trump and probably a non starter for voters. Political people will find a way to argue about anything.

Sure, there would be a one-time raise in prices. If it's business as usual with China, then it should be avoided. It's not business as usual.

As far as the level of price increases, it depends how much of the tax the Chinese eat to stay competitive with other Asian countries, Mexico, etc. If the Chinese eat some of the tax rather than try to raise prices to entirely offset the taxes, that's a net benefit for the U.S. treasury.

I don't know why the Democrats decided to argue about tariffs. I think it's a losing argument for them.

I don't analyze tariff data, but to some degree this can be true.

Interesting fact: A nascent U.S. federal government financed itself to a great degree from tariffs. Early Americans knew that tariffs would keep prices high for finished goods from Britain and elsewhere, but they accepted the trade-offs.
