Calling people names no matter who they are is childish...Be better.
Saying derogatory things about immigrants, Palestinians, LGBTQ people etc is discriminatory to put it lightly. Be better.

@Skoob

First off, it was $120 per year. (if you owned a car in the province you would know that)

My bad. But I haven't paid in 4 years and at my age, I forget some things. But since you corrected me, that changes the numbers to 120M for 1M cars and over 4 years almost 5 Billion dollars (and what is that for 10m cars?) I wonder what we could have done with 50 billion dollars over the last for years ........... hmm.

Why would that just be dismissed as the cost of owning a car when we already pay taxes for roads, fuel, etc?

Because that is just the way it is. Put your big boy pants on and move on, nothing here.

It's not about collecting more money; it's about managing the money we currently have.
You can collect all the money you want but if it's not managed well, it really doesn't matter.

You are completely correct in that it comes down to managing correctly or mismanaging as well. If you have a revenue stream and mismanage it, you are at fault. If that results in reduced $ for health care, education etc. so be it! If you remove that revenue stream strictly for political reasons, that is also mismanagement. I wonder where the $ will come from to cover the grants for the battery producers ...... another hmmm.
"because that is just the way it is..." is the reason why this country is a mess and unaffordable.

The revenue stream you are referring to has evolved into a tool for lazy politicking whereby accountability has diminished and replaced by just extorting more money to make up for incompetence. People can't run their households like that. The government shouldn't either.

Just because more money is coming in, doesn't mean it's being used properly. So that begs the question, why are we collecting so much if it isn't being used appropriately and efficiently?

Answer: lazy politicking

Health care, education, social services are not 'lazy politicking'.

That's what we pay our taxes for and that's what we should get.
DoFo cuts revenue, declares he can't afford to pay for any of that and then declares he must privatize it all.
That's the conservative model.

It'll give you the failures of the US system.
That's what you want.

Everything you mentioned was funded properly in the past...just because union greed has become weaponized against political opponents doesn't mean we need to pay more money to keep them happy.

Get rid of the public sector unions or privatize it all. Your choice.

Its not union greed, its cutting taxes for corporations and the rich, its the lack of revenue from the rich.
Why do you keep trying to blame poor people?

Corporations and wealthy people pay more taxes than everyone else and do more to fund social programs than you care to admit.
Socialist (ie Communists) think that no one should have more wealth and everyone should make the same. ie a race to the bottom

That explains your usual delusional "solutions" and your indoctrinated Marxist mentality that has you believe that people who have more money than you are the problem for your under-achieving lifestyle.

Abolishing unions would fix many problems. You know it's true. You just don't want to admit it.

Next time the government bailouts a corporation (because it's too big to fail) we should get rid of every high-level manager, make sure they do not get any bonus out of the bailout package, divide the shares by 80%, and distribute the equivalent to the employees. After all a bailout is total socialism taken on the back of regular citizens so let's get the employee to benefit from it.

I can tell you because I have seen it so often in the past 25 years rich people do EVERYTHING possible to avoid paying taxes. There is a whole billion dollar industry of fiscalist lawyers strickly devoted to this.

How often do bailouts happen outside of a global economic meltdown and to how many companies?

Companies pay into the tax system and have the same right as anyone else who needs social assistance.

How about all private companies shut down...where would your tax revenue come from? If you don't know the answer to that question ask Russia, North Korea or Cuba and find out what the trade-offs are.

Everyone should do everything legally possible to avoid paying taxes. That's why laws exist...to be followed.
The notion that people who are wealthy are the ones breaking the law is a fallacy. I would be willing to bet that the average person doing their own taxes every year has more of a tendency to cheat than someone who has more at stake, like a company. Companies undergo financial audits regularly as a shareholder and industry requirement. How often do individuals get audited in comparison?

The corporate rax rate for income greater than 500k is 25%, federal and Ontario provincial combined, for income less than 500k it is 12.2%

It is a great deal for incorporated companies but that is not enough for them. They take profits and invest it into appreciating assets like real estate, then they take depreciation on the appreciating asset. If the corporation needs money they do cash out refinancing of the appreciating asset. The net effect is that they pay close to 0 taxes and raise real estate prices for the average wage slave.

Corporations do not invest into new machinery or equipment instead they dump profits into real estate because it is so tax-advantaged. It is why our productivity and GDP growth ranks last among G7 countries.

Corporations drive the economy and employ people.
Those people pay taxes.

Chase away corporations with high taxes. No jobs.
No jobs. No taxes.

Look at what Genocide Joe did compared to rump.
Rump cut taxes for billionaires and Biden spent on social services.
Look who raised the debt more.

Look at DoFo who cave us the biggest deficit and debt in Ontario history.
The austerity you back has never worked.

Nice informative response.
How as kindergarten today?
It was good, did about 10k in sales for the day.

How was your day at kindergarten? Did the teacher go over why your desire for a single-income family thriving is incompatible with your love of trickle-down economics?
