On a side note, I was watching prime time, and to their knowledge, there's no plans for a renovation to Rogers Centre nor a new stadium. So we're stuck with this piece of shit for the foreseeable future.

I know it is a pet peeve of yours, but right now the stadium is the least of their troubles and I see zero logic in building a new stadium at this time. What is the advantage and how will Rogers recoup the money it will cost?

In '15 and '16, over 3,000,000 passed through the gates. Because they had a good team, the fans did not care what the facility was like. I know that you like to cite parks like Camden Yards in Baltimore that you feel provide a better fan experience and is part of the draw. They are drawing about 15,000 fans per game. Shit attendance for a shit team in an intimate modern style facility.

A new stadium for the Jays may be an attraction for a while, but a few 70 win seasons will rectify that pretty quickly.

Spend the money on the team and give the fans a good product on the field.. THAT is what makes for a good fan experience. A good team in a less than ideal park is waaay better than a shit team in a nice park.

Honestly I consider this to be the first year of the rebuild. They finally shed the old players and are now bringing up the new ones. The previous few years were getting rid of a lot of contracts and new management getting it's act together and accessing talent.

They are pretty much unwatchable at the moment.

There should be no reason they are working on both. This stadium is outdated. You want to be a big league team, have a big league stadium.

Then you consider wrong. Or, you can phrase it a different way if you like. Maybe they are considering this the first year of their rebuild, but that's there problem. You get 5 or 6 years to make something happen. You don't get 10. Not our problem they handled things wrong. Should have traded JD, when they had the chance, among other trades they could have made if they wanted to do a rebuild.

Except we have a shit team in a shit park
Unfortunate as that may be, BBL's desire for a new stadium does not seem to be something that would provide much positive benefit for the money it would cost.

I am liking Cavan Biggio a lot. He seems to be a thinking man's player, a good eye, good mechanics and baseball instincts. You'd almost think that a major leaguer trained him from birth.

You hold up Camden Yards as a major league stadium, but their team is bush league and their attendance is dismal.

You have it back asswards. How will building a new stadium make the Jays better and more of a money maker if the fans will not support an at least respectable team. What will building a new stadium do to make the Jays think that it would be worthwhile. They have shown that they prefer saving money over giving the fans something to cheer for.

No it is not accurate. Your window is 5-6 years. You don't get 10. Lot's of teams have done rebuilds in that time. No reason this club should be any different. Don't let them off the hook so easy.
Especially with one of the very richest ownerships in the majors. At this point, unless most of the youngsters turn it on quickly, they are looking at the better part of a DECADE. Unacceptable to me, considering the resources they have at their disposal.

They have ALWAYS had the ACCESS to their talent. We can only hope that they ASSESS it properly. And someone who was executive of the year should not need a ridiculous amount of time like 3 or 4 years to merely get their act together.

Stick to politics where you can pretend to know something. You are out of your league here.

Right thanks Mr. Spelling Bee.

And if you look at my comment to Phil up above perhaps you night rethink your comments.

Or continue to hold needless grudges and be a whiner.

He's gonna call you on "perhaps you night rethink your comments".

The N needs to be replaced with an "M"

You reading way to much into this. I'm saying it's one of the worst stadiums in mlb at this point, myself among millions of others strongly agree, suggesting the fan experience is not a good one. Weather they're losing or winning, they need to get with times. You want to attract star players, you need first class facilities.

I remember when the leafs re-signed Mats Sundin, he was on record saying if the ACC wasn't already in construction and leafs were to keep playing at the Gardens, if wouldn't have re-signed.

It'a obviously a hot topic or else it wouldn't keep coming up.

For the record, I think PNC park is just as nice as Camden. Petco Park is also beautiful which I've been to.
