The problem is Sanchez and his agent Scott Boras dont wanna do that because it lowers his value.
But I think thats a bullshit stance to take, the team should come first
A starter that can't go long enough to get a win is worth didley! Does Boras know what 25% of didley is? Sanchez and Stroman are supposedly being offered around the leagues, bet the asking price for Stroman is a lot higher than the price for Sanchez. If the team says Sanchez to the bullpen that is where he should go, no argument!

Thanks for the link. I read it and I stand by my statement.

I suppose you are going to challenge me to some kind of bet now. LOL
Even though I have absolutely no clue what you're going on about, I'm just gonna say you're right because I dont wanna go down the rabbit hole you've apparently gone into :biggrin1:

So I'm just gonna say, shack is right. Shack is always right. When has shack ever been wrong??

Update on Blue Jays starter:

Ryan Borucki played long toss at 120 feet today, really aired it out for first time, felt good, test will be in how it feels tomorrow.
Slated for first bullpen session Friday as he slowly rebuilds

Actually, there was ONE time when I was wrong. I thought that I had made an earlier mistake.

Re: the last names. Actually it is a pet peeve of mine that started when on golf leaderboards, they listed Love III, just like they list Guerrero Jr. and Gurriel Jr. Their last names are Love, Guerrero and Gurriel. The only time the numeric designation is proper is if they include the first name. That is because, respectively, he is the third person in the Love family named Davis, Guerrero is the 2nd Guerrero named Vlad and the same with Gurriel being the second Lourdes in the family. Davis Love III's last name is Love, same as Vlad's and Lourdes last names are Guerrero and Gurriel respectively.

It makes no sense that if his last name is Guerrero Jr., he has a different last name than his father, his mother, his siblings and in the future his wife and children, when in all cases they would have a last name of Guerrero, not Guerrero Jr. IMO, this kind of designation is lazy ignorance. People are used to seeing the name Davis Love III and then just list the name as Love III instead of thinking how stupid that is.

OK, I am finished except to say that there was another time that I was wrong. That was when I used to think that you were a total dickhead.;) But I don't anymore.

I can sometimes be a nitpicker and I admitted that is simply a pet peeve. It doesn't alter the fact that you know I am correct.

Not me. It is a business. That is all management thinks about and Sanchez would be foolish not to do same.

How much power do the players have in the postion they play? I suppose Jays could make Sanchez sit until he goes to the pen but the union may have something to say about it. How much value is there in a stater that cannot go five innings anyways ?

Couldnt agree more

What Dawgger said though, what value does he have if he cant last past 3 innings??
Nobody is gonna wanna sign a pitcher like that unless they have the secret cure for blisters

Unfortunately, losing a player on this Jays team doesn't matter much. The Jays just replace him with a pitcher from the waiver wire. Tepera was a decent piece last year and I hope he recovers and returns to form. I haven't seen anything on this so I am guessing he is done for the year?????
Anyone watching this team? It is hard to watch, pitching, hitting, defence all a mess.

What did you expect? Do you not understand it is a rebuild year?

Although they try to instill winning, this season is not about competing but about evaluating all available talent, both on and off their roster! :yo:

I expected a losing season. I also expected professionals playing at the highest level to be fundamentally sound. I also did not expect management to be picking up discards and throwing them out there for the paying public to watch. They suck today just wait until after the trade deadline.
I blame Shapiro and Atkins. God forbid they renew their contracts!

How many and which kids currently on the roster will develop enough to be strong contributors to a winning core? How much of a core is already in our possession?

Actually, are there any under 25 that are "locks" to be major contributors? Even Vlad has only 105 AB's and his results seem like an average rookie with some power, .227 average.

They should be embarrassed with the team they are fielding and charging the fans major league prices. Edwin Jackson, 0-2 and 9.00 ERA starts tonight.

Good question.

Nobody has a crystal ball, and not even the best experts get it right all the time. But IMO the ones who I think will eventually stick and become good players are: Vlad, Gurriel and especially Biggio. I like his batspeed, he turned on a 93 mph fastball and launched it into the executive suites near the foul pole. Thats not easy to do.

I think Jansen will probably be okay too, but out of all them he's the one I'm a bit worried about.
In his defense, he's hit a ton of hard hit balls and line drives right at people, sooner or later those will drop.

AFA pitchers is concerned I think Trent might be an okay 5th starter, but SRF and Borucki I just havent seen enough to be able to judge

Sounds reasonable overall.

So basically we are only 15-20 players away.

yup the geniuses that run the team allowed him to be humiliated again, 2 innings pitched, 10 earned runs allowed. Jackson is done like dinner, just put a fork in him! With what they are paying Tulo Martin etc. give Jackson what he is owed, which is chump change, and release him.
Phil, thought I read where you once pitched in the old Leaside Seniors league, give Atkins a call, the money is decent and he is obviously desperate for bodies. Could be a good fit, oh yes and the after game meal includes beer.
