The good news, the Jays are guaranteed not to lose today

Even at age 88, William (The Great Shat) Shatner can still bust a move better than the Jays hitters.

the BJs are well aware of financial losses in the next couple of years. That is the price they knew they would pay to remain a pretender during the last few years to fill up seats. They could of (should have?) started the rebuild when JD and company had trade vlaue but they made a business decision to make $ while they could

So there it is.

Premiere Ford has announced a transit extension from the Science Center to Ontario Place. Rogers has no excuse to delay on announcing their stadium plan now. I don't know about the eastern part but an extension from Union Station to the CNE is sorely needed. Rogers get your shit together! The charms of our city are mitigated by playing on artificial turf in a decaying stadium.

And the Ontario Place squares are being eaten away by rust.

God I hope this is true, but other than on here, I've not heard one word about Ontario place being the location of a new stadium. If fact, the government even set up a site or something where you could email your ideas of what they should do with Ontario place. After the deadline, I heard a few radio talk shows talking about the different ideas and not once was a new stadium bandied about.

The only thing I've heard is Mark Shapiro was on Tim and Sid show and said "there is a big plan" but it still sounded like they were just going to do something with Rogers Centre. I have a feeling it's has to do with putting stuff around the building. But you can listen for yourself here at the 3:20 mark:

The Jays are severely disadvantaged by playing on turf, Shapeyero is full of methane if he thinks differently. They wont be able to keep any of their prospects and no free agents of impact will move to Toronto. Doig a "big plan" with Rogers Centre is like putting dandelions on a corpse.

The Rays are moving ahead with a new stadium.

From what I understand, they've talked about doing a major retro-fit. Meaning, the stadium will still be where it is, but will do major reno's in stages to resemble a more modern stadium so it will be literally like a new stadium that they'll put natural grass in, but I hope your right about a brand new one in Ontario Place, I just haven't heard anything about it other than hear so I'm skeptical.

Under AA/Beeston wasn't there some study or something being done with Guelph U. in order to find a grass that would grow inside the dome? Did that end or did Shatkins end it?

Yeah they were doing a study, but I think what ended up happening was they came close, but still doing many obstacles and unknowns so they scraped it.

Did Bee/AA scrap it (which I had not heard) or Shapeero?
Beeston initiated a cost analysis of installing a sprinkler/drainage system, the results were prohibitive. Since he was leaving anyway, he left it in Shapeyero's hands. Shap knows the results but he never released them, to do it would be a logistics nightmare. There's also the roof maintenance to consider. Under normal circumstances it would be a big deal, but the roof gets battered by ice falling from the CN Tower every winter. The cost rises every year. They have to make a decision soon or get left behind by the rest of MLB.

For the love of God I hope if we get a new stadium, we don't have a roof like the one Tampa plans on. One like Seattle, Houston or Arizona would be good.
