I have a couple of questions

When it someones first time using a SP, would the SP like to know that ahead of time? If so would this change the service the SP usually provides?

I think it would be a good idea to let the SP knows, either when making the appointment (if you're booking with an indy), or at the beginning of the appointment.

If I know that I'm the first SP a client is seeing, I will be particularly attentive in putting him at ease, I will spend some time chatting with him and figuring out what kind of experience he's looking for, and I would most likely take the lead in directing the session.

I can't comment much on how to contact an SP and what to say as I'm not indy, but I would suggest a basic rule: be polite and respectful.
