They're are considered an "inter-league rival" apparently. Why are we playing a National League team (Phillies) twice in the same season??
Makes no sense to me
We played them twice last year as well. Both were 2 game series home and away. Why are we playing a National League team (Phillies) twice in the same season??

Yes that trade and the Moreno trade should have signaled the end of these two clowns running the show.I'm surprised nobody is posting about the fact that Eric Swanson was released. So it's official. We lost.Teoscar for nothing. Just a single prospect. Worst trade in Blue Jays history. This trade made me sick to my stomach and I posted about it here not even 24 hours later. Yeah the Jays are playing ball and it's exciting and yada yada I love Barger, etc. etc..... but come on now how is this administration still intact after they completely shot themselves in the foot for no reason with this Hernandez trade. I have never understood it and I will never understand it. Instead of moving him, they should have focused on extending him. He was openly saying he would welcome a trade back to Toronto at the trade deadline for 2023. Certainly never came across as somebody that's difficult to extend. They lost something special the day they traded Hernandez. I will never understand why they didn't see it.

The Jays also acquired left-handed starting pitcher Adam Macko, now 24 years old, in the Hernandez deal. He's their #9 prospect, and finally healthy again. If he produces at the Major League level, this will end up being a good trade, even with Swanson's contribution discounted.I'm surprised nobody is posting about the fact that Eric Swanson was released. And when will that be? Five years after the trade? I don't agree. The trade stunk. And we can talk about the successful career Hernandez has gone on to have until we're blue in the face. For me personally, the biggest issue that came out of this deal was the mentorship and "older brother" guidance to Guerrero. Along with team chemistry and invaluable protection in the order. No this trade was horrible. Swanson was just released… It doesn't get any more straightforward than that.If he produces at the Major League level, this will end up being a good trade, even with Swanson's contribution discounted.

Six years of control at the Major League level for a 6' 1" left-handed starting pitcher, vs 1 year of Teoscar Hernandez on an expiring contract, with no guarantee of being able to re-sign him within budget limitations sounds good to me. As I recall, Philip, you were also balls deep on signing Anthony Santander; what a great move THAT has turned out to be, so far.And when will that be? Five years after the trade? I don't agree. He will last 2 starts and thumb issue will arise again and he's done for good , just too damn old.Max's start at Worcester last night. There was mention on the Jays broadcast that he could be back up to start on Monday.

Macko is rated the 9th best prospect in the Jays system. That's not saying much considering that our system is rated in the bottom half of the league. His #'s in the minors so far aren't good. The upside is a 4th or 5th starter. As far as Swanson I liked the arm. He had a solid season in Seattle before we traded for him. But two things happened. His child had a freak accident and almost died. And he got hurt. But we gave up a slugger for a bullpen arm and a middling prospect that wasn't a wise move. I tend to agree with Philip. The Jays also acquired left-handed starting pitcher Adam Macko, now 24 years old, in the Hernandez deal. He's their #9 prospect, and finally healthy again. The narrative has been little hints of "LA wanted him" that's bullshit. The Dodgers only signed him because of his availability on the market. And they rolled the dice and gave Hernandez a one year deal initially..... they barely offered him a three year deal this past off-season. It certainly felt as though Hernandez wanted to stay there more than they actually want him. I was following the off-season negotiations. LA just barely offered a three year deal. Which was a little foolish in my mind. Clearly he provides stellar protection in the order.Macko is rated the 9th best prospect in the Jays system. I agree especially the way we got him..in the Osuna trade. It was a bonus he turned out as well as he did. Could have been our every day DH and play the field once in a while. The narrative has been little hints of "LA wanted him" that's bullshit. The trade deadline 2023 Hernandez is in Seattle saying openly he would welcome a trade back to Toronto.... certainly doesn't sound like somebody that was too difficult to extend, especially because him and Guerrero are buddies that work out and hang out in the off-season.
....we so-called Blue Jay fans are a weird bunch. Lmao. We criticized the hell out of Ross Atkins yet we support his idiotic moves. "Teo strikes out too much and he has shitty defense and he was going to be a free agent."
Like I said from day one of that trade, guys like Hernandez do not grow on trees. We should've nurtured him and extended him. Good he's with the Dodgers and I'm happy about that.... let's hope they win another World Series this season.
