The demand isn't what you think it is and most teams either aren't desperate for a 1st baseman OR don't believe the hype. We're not going to get the return you think we will, at least not now. Might get more trading him in the off season (assuming he keeps it up all season long).

Bingo!

Babe Ruth got traded.
Wayne Gretzky got traded.
Joe Montana got traded.
Wilt Chamberlain got traded.

Anyone is available, should the return be sufficient.
Joe Montana was in the twilight of his career and his best days were far behind him. Anyway, I do agree that everybody is expendable if the price is right.

Whatever ailments Tulo is having he looked real lost at the plate. Wake him up by moving him further down the batting order? Pearce is hot so move him up and slide Tulo down the ladder and slide him out of town! LOL

Something quite unusual took place in last night's Blue Jays/Red Sox game:

The Jays led 3-0 going into the bottom of the 7th inning in Boston.
Then, the Red Sox scored two runs and had two men on with two out.
The Jays brought in a relief pitcher (Leone).
He threw one pitch, which was hit for a double (tying the game) and also got the 3rd out (runner gunned down at home plate).

The top of the 8th saw the Jays score a run to take the lead back.

The bottom of the 8th saw a different pitcher (Tepera) throw a clean 1-2-3 inning.

Then Osuna gunned the Red Sox down 1-2-3 in the 9th.

Normally, Leone would get the win by being the pitcher of record.
However, the scorer (correctly) determined he was not "effective", and gave the "win" to Tepera.

Nothing!

But at the and of the day, who do we trade, and who do we keep??
And keep in mind, I been drinking tonight, so I'm not entirely kosher right now.

Cheers, you freak!!!

think compete in 2019 so trade every FA this year and next

dump martin and tulo eating their contract and get WTF you can for them thus opening up salary cap

get FAs end of next year then in exactly 2 years from now we become buyers for playoff race

this year we end near last and get top draft pick

but i suspect jays plan on contending next year so I expect no major trading

why not give it to Stro as he was the most effective pitcher last night?

the rules need to be changed

this W/L thing is bogus WTF counts is good starts and Stro had one last night and would have had a shutout if pen started 7 as it should have but Gibby decided to stretch Stro

you should not let great hitting team see you starter 3 times esp in hitters park and a very mediocre fielding team

Why not give it to Stroman?
Easy, he was ineligible according to the rules.

The rules need to be changed.
Why?

W/L are bogus?
Correct, I've been saying this for years.

Gibby decided to stretch Stro.
False. Stroman was only at 106 pitches after 6 2/3.
Gibbons has a bullpen that had been overused the prior 2 days, he's managing 162 games, not one.

From Wikipedia: In Major League Baseball, the winning pitcher is defined as the pitcher who last pitched prior to the half-inning when the winning team took the lead for the last time.

There are two exceptions to this rule. The first is that a starting pitcher must complete five innings to earn a win (four innings for a game that lasts five innings on defense). If he fails to do so, he is ineligible to be the winning pitcher even if he last pitched prior to the half-inning when his team took the lead for the last time, and the official scorer awards the win to the relief pitcher who, in the official scorer's judgment, was the most effective.

The second exception applies if the relief pitcher who last pitched prior to the half-inning when the winning team took the lead for the last time was "ineffective in a brief appearance" in the official scorer's judgment, in which case the win is awarded to the succeeding relief pitcher who, in the official scorer's judgment, was the most effective.

In the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, every pitcher is considered as a relief pitcher for the purpose of this rule. For example, a starting pitcher Matt Cain was awarded the win in the 2012 All-Star Game despite throwing only two innings.

100 pitches and third time through a good hitting team in a hitters park with a bad defensive team behind you and game is close is no time to stretch out your starter IMHO

100 (106) pitches in the middle of July is not stretching out a starter who hasn't missed a turn all year.

How about that genius move off Carrera running for Smoak after he reached third base....but not running for the slow footed Morales at first who represented a potential insurance run?

It was the right move, the go ahead run was the important one, they did eventually put a PR in for Morales, Goins!

No.
In addition to the teams listed earlier, the Mets, Marlins, Indians, Orioles & Braves have exceeded the threshold (prior to 2003).
