Dirty and nasty, how about this then.....if the law passes as is, the only place prostitutes can be charged is near schools and play grounds right?? Well then how about going in front of the Prime Ministers residence, dressed in spiked heels and short skirts trying to solicit the people and cars driving by?? Based on bill c36 they cannot be charged but maybe a few politicians won't be able to resist and get nabbed when the attempted purchase is made.

LMAO at this point one has to laugh at the stupidity of this proposed law and the people behind it, The Reform Party of Canada.

So why Calgary Police chief praised this Bill and said that eradicating the prostitution for his city is a top priority?

The Calgary Police Chief is not a politician.... at least not an elected politician. He can enforce all he wants, but at the end of the day, his budget comes from (real) politicians. I don't know what the Attorney General (or whatever he's called these days) of Alberta's position is on prosecuting the sex-trade, but if he decides that it's not worth the Province's worth to prosecute, Hansen will be wasting taxpayer's money big time, and taking it away from much more important things for society.

Police are guided by the Criminal Code; but they also have to listen to politicians. Politicians can ultimately replace police chiefs, especially if the latter think they can make their own policies.

No one with believe her. Who in Canada is going to believe a whore? I mean wish it would lead to a shit storm in the conservative caucus but I don't think anything thing with happen.
You maybe right: who will believe a whore. So maybe, it wasn't such a bad idea (if it was planned that way), for her to smack her riding crop, stare at some senators and manege to get kicked out of proceedings. At least, it gave the proceedins some visibility. The Conservatives are taking sex-workers for granted, and members of the public who don't believe Bedford are not going to believe any more the other sex workers who are testifying.

....AND THE DAY AFTER IT PASSES ..... Take it to SCC to Challenge this MORAL FASCIST Taliban Government stripping women of freedoms & CONTROLLING them!!
TIME TO USE .... American style Lobbyist tactics .... straight out of the PLAYBOOK of NRA ( National Rifle Association )
NRA lobbying tactics are simply to get their members and sympathisers (other gun owners) to vote for candidates who support their policies; plus, in some States, they have recall votes, so they can punish elected politicians who change their positions after they get elected. How are you gong to get the 30% of Canadian men who have bought sex in the past to not vote for the Conservatives?

The conservatives lied and cheated the results of the online survey to pass this bill, so nothing wrong with Bedford playing dirty and nasty.
Fer Frick sakes....get up to date. NO BILL HAS passed. This is a "pre study" before a senate committee........ hearing from witnesses. Long way from a "Bill" yet.

and Hailey..not so sure it matters whether you have cash or not. You are free to prostitute see clients...take cash..and are immune from prosecution.

As for standing in front of PM's office...laws against public so,I citation still.....and should.....remain!

the subtle change is....where girls did not want to out themselves before, for fear of prosecution....it will be much easier now to deal with Police as they are IMMUNE from prosecution.

I don't think you quite grasp the implications of this Bill C-36: What's the point of it being legal for sex-workers to operate if the business dries up as we know it? Being illegal to buy sex will make a lot of the normal (i.e. non violent) clients to stay away, but the unsavoury types like the violent ones to stick around. It will not be possible to advertise unless you set up your own website on your own server. Plus, being open to the public, the cops will just stake out the locations and confront clients as they leave. They may not have any reasonable proof, but word will get around and clients will stay away.

Your local and friendly pimp will get into the act and facilitate the recruitment of clients and taking them to locations difficult for police to access, thereby putting prostitutes at risk of physical harm at the hands of either or both clients and pimps, and of course, the services of a pimps doesn't come cheap. Either they take most of the SP's money, or get them hooked on drugs so that have to keep on doing it to maintain their steady supply.

Bill C-36 is bad law. They don't give a shit about what they call 'fallen women'. It's a calculated political vote grab.

BTW, I was a conservative voter. Not any more. This trumps everything else, including firerams. It is about whether the government should impose their own morality on the rest of us, and whether it should keep it's nose out of the privacy of closed doors between consenting adults. Harper went only so far with reforming the Firearms Act in order to secure the potential vote of 2 million firearms licensees... nothing else.

That man is also very religious. But like he said himself chiefs of police are very divided in their opinion. Mainly he wants to have a law and will say anything to support it is my opinion. Policemen always want to have as many laws as possible they can use.

You should look into what % of AMERICANS actually support right to bear small firearms!!! You would be shocked ....& Yet the NRA pushes through their policies despite super low public % agreeing with right to bear small firearms. NRA Textbook case for getting your policies thru even though supper low public support. It is not majority rule or true democracy. This c-36 much like that now. Super low support by media & the public YET special Interest groups are pushing their agenda ..... although not hard considering the HARPER CHRISTIAN TALIBAN Government!!

GOOD ON HER. Harper government not unlike MORAL FASCIST Islamic TALIBAN. They use morality to strip women of freedoms & CONTROL WOMEN. HAPER tried this with abortion. tIME TO PLAY DIRTY ON THESE LYING propaganda spreading pieces of CRAP in HARPER'S House of Commons & SENATE !!!
Sorry I have an opposing view. These types of threats make her the only fascist in this. She is hurting herself most of all. How many people would be fool enough to see her now?

We would be in a much better place if she had left well enough alone until John and Jane Q Public were ready legalize prostitution. Unfortunately 'they" clearly weren't - judging from the media slant being taken and the shocking lack of public or political opposition to some very poor proposed legislation. This grandstanding will not win her any support or sympathy from the public or customers.

It not the fact that she is a sex tradeworker or as u call it" whore" that is the problem, however it is the ignorance that slinging shit at people will not help the situation, nor does it help put sex trade worker in a favourable, wanted and valued profession, I think that clients should have rights to their privacy, and be able to see a sex trade worker without being harassed.

For every step forward sex workers make, this chick knocks them 3 steps back. She is an embarrassment and many sex workers wish she would just gag herself already. She needs to learn to shut the fuck up, she has messed things up enough.

Nope, she got rid of bad laws.
Don't blame her if different bad laws replace them.
Hopefully they will tweak the law to protect both the clients and the sextrade workers, they law wasn't passed the first time because of the flaws in it. no one wants bad laws period.................. the law has not even been passed so what bad law did she get rid of:confused:. She spoke out of anger and even apologized for that herself,

We don't need tweaks, we need the incoming law dumped.

She got rid of laws that the Supreme Court knocked down.
Does Ms Femme believe she should have stayed low and accepted being a criminal?

Nothing we say can stop the adoption of the new law, because the government has a majority and doesn't care about facts. On the other hand, courts care only about facts and this law will crash and burn. It's all a forgone conclusion.

These commission are just for show and activists must use that show to make a good impression. What we can do is show how irresponsible the government is. Expressing contempt and anger is a good thing, but making threats is not something that will make a good impression.

She shouldn't have set up her "Bondage Bungalow" in a family oriented neighbourhood which shows again how she cares little for anyone but herself. If she operated smart and stayed low in the first place she likley never would have been raided.

She shouldn't have set up a sex den in her house in a family oriented neighbourhood which shows again how she cares little for anyone but herself.
Escorts see clients in their hotels, apartment buildings, condos, suburban homes etc. - they were all breaking the law.
She got the bad law struck down.

Should we also say escorts don't care about anyone but themselves?
