Are you saying you're not a Canadian?

You keep telling us Canadians pay too much in tax while at the same time telling us the debt is too high. You must be the only pro-business person that doesn't understand that reducing income isn't a good way to overcome a deficit.

Eventually, AI will be developed that will make most teachers redundant. The unions can see the writing on the wall with online learning and are acting to ensure their continued existence. Driver-less cars and teacher-less classes are the way of the future.

So many useful info here, thanks a lot. I personally have worked as a teacher for some time and I know how hard the profession is and how much dedication is needed. I really enjoyed doing essays and helping children do them to the fullest, so I decided to change my job and started working at a high quality online essay writer because it is much more suitable for me.

Are you misquoting me again?
Get another hobby
What is wrong with you?

You keep telling us Canadians pay too much in tax while at the same time telling us the debt is too high.
Canadians are tax too much and government debt is unsustainable
Are you too stunned to understand it is possible to have more than one problem caused by irresponsible government?

You must be the only pro-business person that doesn't understand that reducing income isn't a good way to overcome a deficit.
And reducing govt spending was never a consideration for you ?
Nope that is blasphemy to your ideology

I’m not against teachers...it’s the teachers union that seem to be difficult to deal with.

This is patently false. The union did not instruct teachers to do this. If this were the case people would be able to produce emails directly from thr union stating "sabotage" online learning.

It was the goverment that told teachers that a students mark could not droo lower than their prr march break mark.

Do you think a teenager who was passing at march break had any motivation to do any work?

It was the government who gave the teachers no iniducation of how long the shut down was going to be.

Fast forward to the new school year....the boards were scrambling. Teachers were told not to prep as what they were teaching was likely to changre.

Look at tdsb even weeks into september parents of online education students were still waiting.

Thesr were munistry and board blunders and missteps.

The union rep in the zoom meeting represents a rogue individual (if that truly happened).

Some people want to demonize teachers but the truth of thr matter is they ended uo taking a 1% per year raise but lost enough wages while striking to mitiage that raise....the sticking point was class size. So the idea that they just want money is just not true. Not to mention median salary of someone with a uni ed is over 85k and a teacher needs over 10 years plus 2 degrees to earn 100k.

Those teachers told to hold off just after march break by the boards was because they wanted to create a unified plan. If some teachers started asap while others did not it would create an image of inequity and disarray. This was not an attempt to sabatoge education.

Last year synchronous learning was not practi sl for many reasons....
E.g. how do 2 kids and 1 computer attend school synchrniusly

What does a family do if suddenly the kidd job at the super market becomed the primary income

Fact: The Chief Medical Officer and Sick Kids Hospital have both said the risk is low and have given their approval to re-open. Is that not good enough for you?

Fact: The Ministry has provided $500 million towards school improvements for physical distancing and $50 million for ventilation systems, $18 million for more online learning resources
https://www.thestar.com/news/canada...ack-to-school-plan-breaks-provincial-law.html

Fact: The Ministry has subsidized equipment and internet service to whoever needed it through this pandemic

Fact: Online learning doesn't work if teachers are told by their unions to not make it work. The private schools somehow managed to make it work. You know why? Cause they are not unionized and if a teacher refused to do it properly they are fired.

Jeezuz the union was even screaming about not having 4 elearning courses introduced just before the pandemic.

Meanwhile you have the unions and teachers only coming up with reasons about why things won't work rather than putting in the effort to make them work.

But we all know the unions are not about the kids. They just use them as pawns during the bargaining process.

Time to scrap these teachers unions altogether. People have lost their patience and those union tactics are coming to light more than ever.
When you work out the dollars oer student per day it was under a dollar.

It sounds like a lot of money as a lumo sum but it doesnt go very far.

Online learning does work..... but only for certain kids. It is not ideal for many others....for various reasons....thats why even amongst adults online course completion varies from 85 percent and lower.

There seems to be twisting of words from the article.....e.g. the teacher who recieved a letter from administration (not union) about how all teachers should provide similar levels of service.

That is not union sabotage.

The crux is that yoi had a crisis and to expect kids to be able to continue to work synchronously is not realistic. E.g. 2 siblings 1 pc....or parent not being able to suppoet child woth lesrning till they get home, or child must work etc.

I dont think people appreciate how difficult it is to even try to teach 20 to 30 kids with differnet tech at home, different levels of comfort with tech, different learning styles, different needs something like reading or algebra. Not to mention its being ask of by a teacher who has luttle to no experiencr with that fornat. Imagine how long it would take to teach solving an equation then check each child for understanding.

The teacher bashers is just uninformed

Teachers are overpaid. Wrong. Median salary for universoty educated ontarions is 85k. Remove those with only a bschelors. And remove those with less than 10 years at one job. And 100k is not unreasonable.

Teachers are lazy. Well there wouldnt be extracurrculars. Parking lots would be empty outside of contractual obligated times. Teachers would not create lessons.

Teachers are doing a poor job. International standardized tests and rankings auggest otherwise.

Education is a waste of tax dollars. The return on investmment is a positive amount. Theres also evidence that well educated people are more healthy, less likely to commit crimes, and less likely to be unemployed.....i.e. saving us on health care, law enforcemenr and social assistance.

Unions are evil. You have benefitted by the progress made by unions.

One thing i will concede it should be easier to fire a bad teacher.
