Problem is with our "coddle the idiots" ultra conservative society the judge wouldn't last a week up here and it'd be in all the papers about how wrong he was to actually open up and say what needed to be said.....LancsLad said:

Well KWI: sorry if this pisses you off but in Ontario we have a standard grade measuring system. In that system I don't care if you're mentally handicapped, learning disabled or not. If you don't meet the A grade level, you don't get an A.
What your'e saying is if a handicapped (wheelchair) athelete wants to compete in the regular olympics and comes in last in the hurdles he should be given the gold medal because, afterall, he's handicapped?

Put it this way: do you want a surgeon who graduated the top of his class at Harvard Medical doing your brain surgery or do you want a surgeon who graduated at the top of his special ed med school operating? ....I thought so.....
Put it another way: a kid works his ass off to get straight A's in the general population. He devotes all his free time to doing homework, studying, etc because he wants to do well. Is it fair that this student's achievement is diminished by some other slacker who also gets straight A's but doesnt' have to study one bit? Know how to read? How to add 2 + 2?

It's strange that people think 15 is too young to have kids. Its really only the last three or four generations who have begun families late into their 20's and 30's.
What has changed, is people have become "soft".
Used to be, you were a "child" until you turned 18..and you grew up over night. Time to face..and accept your responsibilities.
Now we have this "limbo" where you are neither a child, nor an adult from about 12 to 25.
People, don't want to work hard...So they don't. Society props them up.
People don't want to face up to their situation..They don't, and society gives them a pass.
This just goes back to my post a year ago...people have become wimps.
It's easier to steal a gun, run some drugs, and play video games all day.
We, (Canada) has to issue an ultimatum...Grow up. And be productive..or get out!
