top 5 i agree, although that last CL spot seems to be falling into Tottenham's favor. I just don't see Arsenal doing too much damage and i still don't see how Henry leaving can be a good thing.

I think you are another Arsenal fan in denial that losing Henry is not a big thing. Again, when wast the last time Arsenal has done anything significant? Oh that's right it was the CL when who else lead that team?

Also i have watched Tomas Rosicky when he was Dortmund have you? He was a far better player back then then he is now. Quality finishers and forwards are hard to come by, and Arsenal are now missing that. So what if Henry had a bad 18 months, for pete sakes are you going to look back at what he did those 18 months or what he has done in his career as an Arsenal player.

YOu aren't the first person to point out his age.....at 30 getting out of the EPL is no problem, but at 30 getting into the EPL pace is another thing, Ballack and Shevchenko have felt the pain but at 30 you can still do a lot of damage, if you are a Michael Owen type player at 30 then you are in trouble, because the speed isn't there, but Henry's finishing and touch is world class.

Lets be frank here, who would you rather have? Robert Pires or Hleb? All these players coming in from the Bundesliga have struggled to make an impact on the EPL stage, the pace of play is not as significant.

How do you know about Wenger's transfer kitty? His problem with the board is that he doesn't get enough financial backing and the only person who pushed to help get Wenger the players he wants was David Dein. Losing David Dein is going to be Arsenal's downfall. I think Arsenal fans need to be realistic, you lost a great player and a very influencial player at that. If you think you can cope in the EPL without Henry, good luck. If you can cope without Henry and Wenger, then you need your brain check. Right now, Wenger and Fabregas are the 2 key personnel that can save this club.
Obviously losing Henry will have some effect, my only point is that he only played 17 league games last year and in most of those games he was out of form. Effectively we have coped without Henry for 18 months and we haven't finished worse than 4th. This past year only one point behind Pool. Also, Van Persie missed half the year. We tied Chelsea twice and how many of those games did Henry play? We won at the "Theatre of Dreams" how many goals did Henry score there? Did he play? I agree that Rosicky is class. Is it likely that he went to crap in one year? NO. Perhaps injuries and playing a different position had something to do with it. Do we have the quality to be a top 2 team in coming year? Time will tell, we definately need to add a player or two, we still have two months before the window closes, let's wait and see. I agree that we miss Pires but it was his choice, stay on a one year contract or go to Villareal on a two year contract, his choice, no hard feelings. Bergkamp went for a few years on one year contracts, Wenger was not going to change his policy for Pires, time to move on, that's life. Wenger is still there, why are you assuming he is gone? Fabregas has 7 years left on his contract and he is 20 years old. If Barca wants him, I am thinking 35MilGBP. Guess what, if they offer Wenger that kind of money, Fab is on the next plane out. Do you think you can get a replacement for that kinda money? Anyways Wenger already has his replacement, Merida, he is a year or two away. You make it sound like the Board is against Wenger and Dein was his only ally, I doubt it. Dude, people come and people go, that's life, no one is irreplaceable.

Madrid have a strange way of running things, they fired Del Bosque after his successful run and then struggled after that...so Capello wins the league, and what does he get? The boot, I dont get...

Spurs wasted money on Bent clearly...

I've read Crouch might go the other way if Torres goes to Liverpool, or they want Luis Garcia

Calderon blames Capello for Beckham's departure. He says Capello does not mix well with the club's plans for the next few years. Capello wants a team that can compete, Madrid's owners want a team that sells T shirts and that occasionally wins something.

Bernd Schuster was the type of player who always came up injured before the big match. Real had strong teams in the late 80's and Schuster was the sweeper/midfielder in their line-up. Real won 5 Liga titles with Schuster but they never got beyond the semi-finals of the Champions Cup.

The 80's was the golden age of the German national team, but Schuster played almost no part in their success. He wanted to be the "midfield general" of the team but his play didn't match his mouth. He also undermined team captains Paul Breitner and his successor Lothar Mattheius. Had he not been such a prick Germany could have taken the World Cup trophy from either Italy or Argentina. In the end it was Mattheius, ably supported by Mathias Sammer (in Schuster's spot on the team) that took the trophy at Italia90.

So now Schuster is a better coach for Real than Capello?

Fernando Torres finally made the move to Liverpool today, with Luis Garcia going the other way to Atletico Madrid. 26.5 million pounds is a lot for Torres, and I'm not quite sure he'll fulfill those expecations.

Arsenal signed Brazilian turned Croatian Eduardo Da Silva. Havent really seen too much of this guy, so I cant really judge yet. Of course he is no Henry, and no one is, but I'd like them to sign a known entity for once!

I hear ya on the known entity! Da Silva scores a whack of goals in Croatia and for their national team, but how that translates to the EPL, who knows. At least he isn't 17 years old and he loves to score unlike the rest of the team that passes it to death. Anyways, it would be out of character for Arsene to sign a big name like Torres or Eto'o. Speaking of Torres I really like him and 26.5 millionGBP is a lot of coin. Unfortunately for Torres, Liverpool is not a free-flowing attacking team like ManU or Arsenal so I hope the Scousers are not expecting more than 15 league goals from him.

Bellamy has been on Aston Villa's radar for sometime, but the price tag is not worth it 12million, i think Benetiz is being unrealistic there. As for wingers, i think Pool should of pursued Florent Malouda. Class left foot, well worth the money, he was reportedly joining CHelsea but seems to have cooled down, might as well steal from your rivals right?

English Premier League giants Chelsea has agreed a fee with Lyon for the transfer of France midfielder Florent Malouda.

The player will have a physical in London on Monday.

"Chelsea can confirm it has agreed a fee with Olympique Lyonnais for the transfer of Florent Malouda," the club said in a statement.

The fee has not been disclosed, but Malouda has been valued at upwards of $26 million.

Does this mean the end of the line for Robben?? I hate that whiny little bitch!

It looks like ManU is in for Tevez but have to get around who actually owns him, not clear. As well Pool is in for Quaresma and/or Babel. Arsenal better get going or we will be left way behind.
