OK, here is the main problem with your arguments and beliefs:

1) Threatening people regular employment unless they take the vaccine is equivalent to requiring vaccine
2) Taking the vaccine is not equivalent to supporting vaccine mandate. Hell, supporting vaccination and taking vaccine is not the same as supporting vaccine mandate (I jot my booster, I support vaccination, yet I am strongly against vaccine mandate)
3) I believe the arguments against vaccination is very weak are most likely false, but I also believe that arginine against vaccine mandate are false.
Let's deal with the current fact situation.

Assuming that ANY of the protestors are actually long-distance / international truck drivers - and this is pretty dubious - there are any number of other jobs that they can accept that wouldn't take them across the border. Someone just posted that there is a dire need of short-haul delivery van drivers. There - problem solved.

And why shouldn't the vaccine be required anyway? The reputable medical science community says it's safe and effective. Why would anyone choose not to take it and thereby jeopardize others?

1) The whole idea of vaccinations at a workplace is for the protection of all the employees. Obviously if You have worked in a lab environment then there are safety protocols in place such as wearing lab coats, safety shoes, safety glasses, and working with toxic solvents in confined place like fume hoods. This is for everyones health / safety and nothing about the "freedoms" of an individual. This is just another safety protocol. Nothing about "threatening"!!

2) Once again the mandate is for the protection of all the employees as well as the Canadians. Now if one is entering Canada, then there is a Proof of vaccination in place. Why should there be any exceptions to the regulations. Remember that once upon a time many on the right wing were even asking for border closures to prevent the spread of the virus. But now they want no vaccine mandates?? Seriously??

3) What has alpha amino acids such as arising got to do with the vaccine mandate? Yes, arguments against the vaccines as well as the mandates are lame. Look at countries like New Zealand that just imposed the mandates and lockdowns. They barely have 60 deaths, as nearly every New Zealander had to co-operate and hence they are idolized by the rest of the world!!

Also lots of people seem to look down on working class folks especially when they don't tow the party line. Nothing seems to trigger the woke crowd more than White people celebrating in the streets.
BTW it looks like the Cons will finally dump O'Toole's sorry ass sooner than later.
After all, who needs a Conservative leader who acts like a liberal.
No one's "looking down" on working class people. We're just speculating that the protestors - by and large - belong to the lazy, whiny, loafing, NON-working class.

If they actually worked for a living, wouldn't they be at their jobs and not in Ottawa?

Why should I support a dick who drives around honking his horn because he wants part of that GFM treasure chest and doesn't actually work at a real job?

And re O' Toole, be careful what you wish for. If EOT was supported by his own party and allowed to move into the political centre, he would unseat JT sooner or later. An increasingly right wing CPC led by a small-town Prairie know-nothing will forever be a SK regional whine party.

What's it about then?

That the government health measures are the "first in a long line of oppressive measures to turn people into sheep-slaves"? No one believes that nonsense except a 1% minority on the very far right.

It's even sillier that ranting about the vaxxes and masks.
Nope, and you are welcome to listen and grt yourself informed, and if you dont want to listen, there is no point of trying to explain it.

You're not wrong........ it wasn't about vaccines or mandates or even about truck drivers, at least not for the organizers. This was about Lich & Co.'s personal agenda, the truck aspect was merely the mask they wore in their attempt to achieve their goals.
If the end result is lifting the mandates, and letting ppl go back to their lives, i really dont care, there was not a single party in power that disnt screw us in one way or the other.

Here's what we really learned from the convoy.

The 3 yellow vest, wexit, Maverick Party types just raised more money than the liberals did during the election. Erin O'toole is now getting kicked out of the conservatives for being too moderate as the party realizes that the money backing their party wants them more extreme. Which means they will tread into PPC and the Maverick Party territory to chase that money and guarantee a liberal/NPD government for the next election.

We can only hope, change is always good, home NDP drops the beard as well, he is as corupt as they come.

You are just totally brainwashed with the alt right propaganda!!

You are the one to talk lol.....

Alt left or alt right i really dont care about either, problem with the left and right is that they ignore the middle..

There are serious issues that are being ignored by the Liberals right now, ans if it takea for us to cater to conservative oportunisam in order to achieve some sort of ballance, so be it.

Trackers work alone or in pairs. COVID is the same in U.S. and Canada. This is the industry that needs vaccination the least. Plumbers go from house to house - noone require plumbers to get vaccinated. It is just it is easy for the government to require vaccination for cross-border travel even though for US/Canada border neither vaccination nor COVID test are useful.

The mandates would have been lifted with the end of this wave regardless.
If they bothered to check the forecasts they would have known this.
Then again, I'm sure they knew this wave was only going to last a month or two so decided to get it while they could.

OIC, You do not "care" about the left or the right from your arguments. Nice try...... LOL!!

I consider The Liberals to be more to the middle. The NDP and Greens are further to the Left and The Conservatives and PPC to the right. The Liberals tackled this Pandemic in a very concise manner compared to our Cousins down South. Obviously, they are not going to please each and every individual. No Government has done so, although I thought that The Chretien Liberals were one of the best of all Governments in recent years. I voted for change with Harper and regretted his handling of the economy, especially when he refused to believe that there was a Recession that hit Canada under his tenure. He was very dishonest in that respect. However, the Conservatives are in a turmoil at the moment and there is a lot of infighting with regards to who should lead the Party, and where they should drag it!!

This protest was filled with the alt right anti vaxxer crowd that has just resulted in more deaths in the US over covid than any other comparable country.

Once again, you are not an expert in this field. Otherwise, why did all the Governments even shut their borders to foreign travel for a period of time? The vaccines ARE useful, as it limits the spread of a virus and also prevents the individual from being hit with a severe infection in the majority of cases. Can You explain why the COVID test is "not useful" especially as it detects the virus and flags the person for then going into isolation?

Unfortunately, this very basic fact is what these anti-vaxxers just cannot comprehend. :(

And why anyone should tell other people what to do with their bodies?
Because people who are unvaxxed are more contagious longer and get sicker and take up scarce medical resources more frequently and for longer.

This is the same "free-dumb" argument people made against seat belts 50 years ago. The Supreme Court said it was reasonable state action to preserve scarce medical and health care resources by reducing the number and severity of auto accident injuries.

It's the same argument for mandatory bicycling helmets. Or motorcycle helmets. This is elementary legal stuff.

Except 100,000 in a nation of 40 million means dick-all.

It just means the other 39,900,000 are pretty happy with the vaxx mandates.
