Oh, I remembered a good one today while out shopping:

The people who get to the cash and wait until the cashier totals up their purchases BEFORE starting to root around for their money. Those are right up there with Little Old Ladies who want to pay with exact change and start at 2 cents and count up to $1.98...in PENNIES.

One time I was at shoppers drug mart and a L.O.L. was doing that. Her purchase came to $1.26 and she literally started with loonie, a dime and was adding pennies to it.

I pulled out a loonie and put it down next to hers, the cashier took it, and gave me the change lol all before the L.O.L. knew what was happening....

Cashiers who can't do simple math in their heads like when I give the cashier $20.25 for a $10.14 item.

I saw this sign at a dollar store:

"No returns.
No refund.
No exchange.
No problem."

Something else I hate to see is "ALL SALES FINAL" on the receipt.

Pet Peeves From a Retailer

1 The Customer is not always right. Sadly, you can be wrong just like in the rest of your life
2. It is not polite to yell out or interrupt salesclerk when they are helping someone or obviously busy with something with "EXCUSE ME". You are still being a rude jack.ass, so shut your trap and wait your turn.
3. Doing number 2 above, with the explanation that you only have a question, just shows what a self-centred ass you are.
4. I have a "quick question" always takes the longest. It just means you are impatient and want information in your brain quickly, no matter how long and painful you take to ask it.
5. I dont need your fucking life story, and a multitude of useless irrelevant details in your question.
6 After you ask for a recommendation and the salesclerk show you what you require. Do you really need to ask is this the "best one". No, we gave you a piece of crap cause we like to mess with you.

Ok, this is not the store's fault but I dread buying stuff that says SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. Usually, the assembly requires a special tool that none of my relatives or neighbour even heard of.

I loathe shopping, but my biggest pet peeve is the lack of customer service. Today, I was at WalMart so I can pick up one box of ammunition. One $25.00 box. A woman in front of me was interested in buying a scope for her husband. Nobody came to help. All the employees walking by, "Oh, I'm not qualified to help in this section. Let me find someone who is." Finally, I said fuck it and left.
Crowds. This is why I do my grocery shopping at midnight or later. Only people in the store are the employees, and maybe two other customers.

Well, I agree with most of what you said except No. 4. My quick question usually is where the hell did you hide the widgets?. In many cases at Home Depot I actually end up helping the customer the staff is trying to help. When a clerk was helping a young couple with sanders, I stepped in and correctly answered their questions and afterwards, the clerk said to me "thanks, I didn't know half that....".

Another time I overheard a clerk talking to a homeowner about drills. Obviously trying to upsell him to an 18 volt hammerdrill. After the clerk walked away the guy came to me and said: what do YOU think? And I sold him on a small 12 volt kit that was really all he needed.
