If it's the right of a woman to have control over her own body,
Your statement of premise is actually the issue - when is an unborn child a distinct living being and not simply "a part of a woman's body"? You can't debate with someone who insists the issue at hand is a premise that everyone should agree upon.

If an unborn child has developed to the point that its life could be sustained outside of the womb, why is it merely a part of the woman's body? Or is a child like a kidney to you?

Tens of thousands at a Pro-Choice March!!

While I'll admit that the people in your picture does provide some support for abortion, I find the label "pro-choice" to be curious. Even the most religious right wingers believe in free will. The issue is what consequences should attach to those choices.

The concerns for all those demonstrators is that some very conservative states were always espousing for a down right ban on abortion. They will even intend to prosecute the medical staff that involve themselves in life and death situations due to the pregnancies. When minors are raped are they supposed to be forced to give birth to the baby? The wealthy will of course have the means to travel out of state to have an abortion. These are some of the very concerning issues and the consequences of giving such states the right to implement such outrageous legislations!!

Almost everyone who wants a 1st trimester abortion will continue to be able to get them on demand (really, everyone except those who are so confused that they can't find their way to one of the many agencies who will be prepared to drive them out of state).

We are talking about outright bans including 1st trimester abortions in some of the states:

Reread my post. If a person lives in a state which decides to ban abortions for all reasons at all stages they will nevertheless be able to easily get a first trimester abortion (because this, at least, will continue to be lawful in the vast majority of states) in a nearby state. It is a 100% certainty that social agencies (like Planned Parenthood) will drive those who can't drive themselves.

So you agree that not all states will have it by quoting that only "vast majority of states". That is the cause of concern that the states that will ban it is what I am referring to.
Maybe now you get it!!

You are so confused. Let me try to help. The vast majority of states will continue to permit abortions on demand during the first trimester. We know this from a combination of existing laws as well as polling on a state by state basis. This "vast majority" will be so signficant that it will not prove to be a significant hurdle for a resident of ANY state to get an early term abortion, if they want one.

I think as long as you are not the person assisting them, anyone in a state which bans abortions will be able to get one in a neighbouring state without much problem. If you are the person assisting, they could end up short a kidney, but just as pregnant, in a Guatamalan jungle clinic.

So once again you ae the one that is as confused as ever. I provided the link with the states that are potentially going to ban outright all stages of abortion. These are the states that will be in the minority is what I agreed with, who will be prosecuting those who aid and abet those requiring abortions even if the health or lives of the pregnant ones could be compromised when being deprived this right. Even minors who were raped could have their abortion rights taken away from them under those strict laws. The ones that cannot afford to go out of State will be the victims of this very outdated restricted laws!!

When my wife gets hysterically invested in something (like this), and stops making sense, that's usually when I head out for a few errands. See you later on!

Why should they have to travel to obtain medical treatment, Dutch?

You think that's fair or appropriate in a first world country in 2022?

Because they choose to live in a state which has democratically decided not to permit abortions to be performed within their jurisdiction. Not a good enough reason for you?

That's a question that we decide upon collectively in a democracy (at least in the US model of democracy). We don't leave such issues to the fiat of the elites. I'm not sure the issue will turn on "which world" the jurisdicition is, or what year it is. Of course, I don't subscribe to the notion that fixing societal errors is a step backward. Think of Roe vs. Wade as a pilot project that a number of states aren't very impressed with the results of.

Okay, Dutch. You don't believe in Constitutions and judges, how about we toss that 2nd Amendment down the toilet?

How about banning any protests in DC?

That all sound good to you?..... Great go live in a country with no constitution like Russia.

You're losing your grip. It's the Constitution that reserves this decision for the people. Isn't that great? Judges are just a means of enforcing the will of the people, as expressed through democratic law making.

Protests are also fine. Another right reserved to the people by the Constitution.

Yet, none of this is the way of things in Russia. You seem a little confused. Are you sure your're not also Beaver_Hunter?

When have you made any sense at all? Stick to the hockey games, as you could come up with better logic in a sport, rather than politics!!
