Switch to milk easy 200 calories out of your diet, 73000 calories a year if you are already maintaining your weight that's roughly 20 pounds gone by next year.
As mentioned in the quote, here are the numbers for double milk, rather than double cream:

Calories 120 6 g fat 6 g protein 12 g carbs 0 g fiber 12 g sugar

So close and yet so far.
Better still, drink your coffee and tea black. It takes about a week to adjust, then it tastes normal. I haven't had milk or cream in my coffee in over twenty years, although I started with double-double more than forty years ago.

I was a DoubleDouble guy 25 years ago, weaned myself to black in a year.
Can't stand anything in my coffee now with the exception of an occasional splash of Baileys!

Burning more calories than you eat is easy to say, and there are many apps out there that can help (the one I use is MyFitnessPal), but there is another part to the equation, and that is discipline. It is so tempting to eat a cookie or add cream to your coffee, and not count it in your calorie count for the day, but that adds up over time. The easiest way to start is not to change a thing, but just start getting used to logging everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that you eat. Try it for a week, then slowly start reducing the number of calories. If you make any drastic changes to your diet, you might see some short term gain, but you are more likely to gain back just as quick. Good luck!

I was chatting with a friend tonight about how I want to lose 25 pounds and how i've struggled with it for the past 4 years

I know some will say go to the gym and i tried that I wasn't motivated to go enough -so that failed

I feel like screaming cause losing weight is the hardest thing to do

I was looking at some pictures from a few years ago where i was a comfortable size and i even made copies and stuck them on my fridge so i wouldn't eat lol

heres my bod a few years ago just dying to have it back again

so if you know any diets that work id be so appreciative and I will try them

I'm not giving up on this battle it seems the older i get the harder it is to lose weight

Please share Diets that have worked I will try one of yours tomorrow and stop finding excuses and get this over with already

Thanks Madonna xoxo
A lot of great, sensible stuff from our friends here.

I may as well kick in with something less sensible. A few decades ago I was about 30 lb overweight (160 is good for me). I got some simplistic diets of the day. Started out with a three day fast (fluids only) to get used to privation. Then a couple of diets that would probably be called Atkins now. No carbs. A lot of eggs and lean meats and some salad greens. 28 days later I had crashed off 30 lb. This sort of routine is against medical advice but is ideal for those with short attention spans.

These days when I go over-limit (usually about 12-15 lb instead of 30) I go on a modified version of this approach and figure to lose 5 lb the first week and an average of 2 lb a week thereafter. Gets the job done, and if I start going to the gymn I can keep it off for a good while. Avoiding alcohol during the diet is key. After diet I can drink as long as I exercise.

You might want to consider a crash (maintains motivation) followed by a regimen based on the sensible suggestions of our friends.

That said: you look great luv. Don't beat yourself up if you don't need to.

In the past two years I have gone from 242 to 210. For exercise I take a four mile walk four times a week, ride my bike in summer and walk when I play golf. For diet, I have eliminated a few foods high in carbs (rice) and fat (french fries) and sugar (candy). Other than that I eat the same foods I always did, but smaller portions. Snacks are fruit, cheese or yogurt (read the labels, no yogurt with more than 10 grams of sugar). Learn to read the labels in the grocery store and don't buy things high in fat or sugar. It will take some time but this system took the weight off and so far it has stayed off and I am still losing weight. And this method does not require any extreme measures or an expensive gym membership.

If you live in a high rise, as I used to, you have a built in stairmaster. A couple of times a week I would go to the ground floor and walk up to the 17th where I lived. It really tones up your legs.

Diets don't really work.

Stop eating fried foods. Stop eating cheese. Stop eating bread.

Drink less booze. Drink more water.

Exercise daily almost to the point of pain.

This will work. Change your lifestyle.

Sacrifice and discipline: Real Results.

It all depends on what you are prepared to do to feel better about yourself.

Pick a caloric intake that'll help you lose weight. If you currently aren't gaining weight or losing, just maintaining, by cutting only 200-250 calories less per day (literally 3 timbits) could easily result in a 2 pound weight loss per month (24 pounds per year).

1. Start exercising or increase excercise. 2. Count calories and measure accurately for true serving size. A serving size is smaller than you think. Fit Day's a great site for measuring/tracking. 3. One cheat day per week...don't go crazy. 4. Remain committed to your established weight loss caloric intake. It's that easy.

Falling off the healthy eating wagon will quickly result in all of that lost weight quickly returning, though.

What worked for me is mostly keeping the same diet, just eating less of it. And no alcoholic or carbonated drinks. Plus going for a half-hour jog daily.

Simple formula, but effective. I don't buy into all the fads.

As t.o.leafs.fan said, tracking calories is important, if tedious. But it gives you an accurate account of how much you're putting away on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Sorry you don't get fat on Club soda, And as far as Alcohol is concerned it depends what you drink and what you mix it with. A lot more calories in Bailey than Vodka.
Avoid fast foods and sweet juices and carbonated sweet drinks all of these contain a poison called sucrose and is also found, in many other processed foods.

I did p90x for 3 months. I did not change my diet at all and saw huge results.

I would not recommend p90x to everybody. It is a very hard program to follow properly but if you have the time and are persistent guaranteed you will see results.

I can imagine if I followed a strict diet it would be even better but I say fuck it to this...we only live once and need to enjoy a little.I hate feeling hungry at night and like the feeling like I can take somebody on if they messed with me. I hate feeling weak due to a diet.

So I guess my advice is try to exercise at least 3 times a week 30mins min with whatever you do or don't do in terms of diet.

Calories in. Calories out. May not work for everyone especially if there is a medical reason that causes you to gain weight. But a good rule to try to follow.

You feel is out.

http://nutritiondata.self.com/tools/calories-burned

I eat 2500 calories and eat back exercise calories.

I'm going to guess your stats and and say start at 1900 then weigh your self nude first thing in the morning everyday until you figure out if your losing or gaining weight then add or drop 100 calories accordingly.

Check out Fitday website. You can log your activities and it'll estimate (relatively closely) how many calories you burn. You also log in your daily intake of food and drinks and it calculates your caloric intake.

I joined Bernstein Weight Loss clinic and lost 110 pounds in just under one year. Now, 5 years later I have kept 80 of those pounds off. The program is expensive but works... if you have the discipline and mind set to do it. Interestingly, even though the amount of food is small, the lack of carbs does not trigger insulin reduction... ergo, I really never felt hungry on the diet once I became used to it. The only negative, food selection can get monotonous.

Firstly congratulation. That's quite a feat.

I lost 25 lbs in the three months leading up to Christmas knowing I always gain weight during the holidays. And as expected I've gained half back. Now the challenge is to lose the half again and keep it off.

A version of Chinese food helps me a lot. Stir fried just about anything, heavy on the vegetable, fills the stomach with very few calories. Dinners of soup to start and a complete vegetarian supper also helps.

Try www.myfitnesspal.com. Only been using a couple days but has been pretty easy to track calorie intake as lots of meal data online. Can even barcode scan with with Android or iPhone app.

It also integrates with many devices, optionally. I have it getting my step tracking and other exercise tracking with a Garmin Vivosmart band. Also picked up a heart rate monitor, ANT+ wireless to integrate with the Vivosmart. And a Fitbit Aria scale to track weight. Set up so I just have to step on it and it uploads my weight. Sure, three accounts to set up, but myfitnespal is getting the weight data from fitbit and pushing to the Garmin Connect app so I only use the Myfitnespal and Garmin Connect apps.

Only been a couple days, but so far I like the setup. Though, after taxes was under $400. But if just doing the calorie tracking myfitnesspal app is free. And can enter weight data manually. Also a lot less expensive devices available for step tracking than the Vivosmart. But maybe a little geek factor will help me stay motivated.
