6 smaller meals in the course of a day
Nothing to eat after 9pm
Consume minimum of 8 glasses of water a day
Get into a routine of ...
X proteins per day
X carbs per day( carbs are ok..if taken at the right time of day)...remember there are 2 types of carbs...fast burning and slow burning...
Use your carbs during the day when you are most active..they provide the energy when broken down
X fats per day

The fewer # of people who had a hand in preparing your food ...the better ( processed .vs fresh)

Amounts will depend on your present weight and body type..
Go to a nutrionist to see what % of body you have
That will determine how much of each
Protien
Carbs
Fats
You should consume to maximize your weigh loss...and remember 1 important thing
Losing weight should be treated as marathon...not a sprint
Max.1.5 to 2lbs per week...anything more...and guaranteed it will come back when you go off script...your body will adjust..it'll be up to you how that happen
It'll either accept the new routine or go into starvation mode and store fat

I was chatting with a friend tonight about how I want to lose 25 pounds and how i've struggled with it for the past 4 years

I know some will say go to the gym and i tried that I wasn't motivated to go enough -so that failed

I feel like screaming cause losing weight is the hardest thing to do

I was looking at some pictures from a few years ago where i was a comfortable size and i even made copies and stuck them on my fridge so i wouldn't eat lol

heres my bod a few years ago just dying to have it back again

so if you know any diets that work id be so appreciative and I will try them

I'm not giving up on this battle it seems the older i get the harder it is to lose weight

Please share Diets that have worked I will try one of yours tomorrow and stop finding excuses and get this over with already

Thanks Madonna xoxo
To lose weight you have to increase your calories output and lower your calories intake and without doing some sort of physical activity specifically cardiovascular training (other words cardio) this is a very hard thing to do and sometime unachievable.
If you are not into going to the gym and working out on your own try going to some sort of classes like yoga, martial arts, group sports or activities.

But I have noticed a lot of people do not eat properly as the amount of protein, fiber and carbohydrates in their diets and the size of the portions and the number of times they eat daily. If you can start by figuring out what you would need to eat or change your diet according to what you want to achieve that might be a good start.

One thing I definitely recommend anyone that is trying to lose weight is to get a GI chart (glycemic index) and fimiliarize yourself with it. Eat carbohydrates that have low GI instead of the high GI carbs and you will feel less hungry throughout the day. Lower GI carbs will release glucose gradually into the bloodstream and will break down a lot slower and higher GI carbs will release glucose into the bloodstream in large quantities which will result in increased blood sugar levels, bloating.
Also cut down your portions to smaller portions and eat more often to keep your metabolism going instead of not eating for long periods of time. All of this should help you lose some weight but you definitely have to do some sort of exercise or some sort of sport.

I agree with Paleo ( although it is tough to stick with gluten is in farking everything.... An Italian SO doesn't help much either....). Bottom line, eat foods with one ingredient like an apple, or a steak.
Where portion control is concerned, If you take a cooked chicken breast for example and slice it, it will look like a great deal more food on your plate. This truly works. It's almost pathetic how easy it is to fool yourself lol.
Steve and I had great success with "bulletproof coffee". Google it and try it. It's really really amazing. Steve lost 18lbs in 2 weeks. I lost 9. ( fucking men....) Hardest part is finding grass fed butter. At a minimum use organic....The Canadian dairy board won't allow it here.
Good luck!

My friend tried so many diets over the years with no success. Diets alone are not going to cut it. I started working out in Aug, and within 1 1/2 months I was able to fit into pants I haven't been able to button in 6 years. It's not what you want to hear, but without regular, targetted physical exertion is the only thing that will remove the extra fat reserves off your body. A combination of cardio, weights, isometric, and plyometric exercise will guarantee visible results in 2 weeks.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's the only way to take the inches off and keep them off. If motivation is your challenge, find a few workout buddies, sign up for a race, watch shows/movies/video clips that feature fit people doing fit things, read fitness blogs.
Exercise is important but as the saying goes, the secret to a six pack starts in the kitchen. Everyone has a six pack, just most are covered with a layer of fat. You can be 30 lbs. overweight, exercise for an hour 3 times a week and walk 2 km's each evening for the other 4 nights and still not lose a pound if you're not eating properly.

Like many others have said, cut out the sugar from pop and fruit juices, all the bad carbs from wheat, potatoes, and rice. Don't eat anything with flour in it and avoid alcohol. For the first month eat meat, chicken and veggies. Some say no dairy but I like to have a hard boiled egg in the morning. As a mid day snack, have some nuts. A small handfull will keep your hunger at bay and they're really good for you.

If you stay away from the stuff I mentioned, you will definitely notice a difference. Combine it with regular exercise and you will notice a bigger difference. Weigh yourself when you get up on Dec. 1st. and not again until 30 days later, no peaking in between. If you don't cheat, you'll lose 10 lbs. easy. Continue that for the next month and you'll be amazed at how good you look.

I have a friend who can't lose weight. She's tried all sorts of diets and is always 60 lbs. overweight. Whenever I see her or we have dinner together, she's drinking pop, eating pasta, bread, potatoes, cake and ice cream for desert etc. It's not hard to figure out why her "diets" don't work.

If I want to trim down, I stick to what I suggested above and I'll lose 5-8 lbs. in a month. I work out 2-3 times a week but my weight comes down to what I eat, not how much I work out. I never let myself put on more than 10 lbs. over my desired weight.

Gaining 2 lbs. a year doesn't sound like much but if you figure from the time you're 20 to 50, you'll have put on an extra 60 lbs. That's at the rate of gaining 0.17 lbs per month which doesn't sound like a lot, because it's not. But it does add up over time!

This is really for the hard core paleo types (they kinda drive me nuts, a little too fanatical) but there's some good things to follow here.

if you cant go to a spinning class 3 times a week
(they are offered everywhere)
it will do the job in one month if you can keep the pace

here is the easy fix

no soda
no sugar
no salt ......throw it out!
miss dash ONLY for spices

and limit carbs to 1 serving per day

1 slice of bread or one cup of rice or one cup of pasta
but not all 3....just 1 serving per day
and
eat excessive veggies raw or steamed and fruit
anything white will have sugar and add to cellulite
anything GREEN or colorful
will add to your burning stored fat

and dont ever eat a potato or anything fried

buy 2 cases of water from no frills 24 for 3bucks each

dont drink juice! each fruit
one glass of OJ has more sugar than 3 whole oranges
but most people drink one bottle of OJ bought from a store thats 2 servings in one bottle ear serving in a Bottole of OJ has 30 plus grams of sugar and 20 plus grams of sodium ( salt) thast 60 plus grams of sugar and 40 plus grams of salt)
do the math .

IF you have to snack choose fruit or veggies
it will help your skin also in the long run

but if you combine all that with spinning 3 days a week
you drop 20 plus in a month

you could add hydroxy cut max for woman but thats More for when you hit a plato after 45 days and your body stops losing weight after you added and removed the above items..

it sounds easy but if you dont throw out every snack and sugar and salt and soda you wont see a change and snacking smaller means does nothing for woman over 30 as you wont burn caAls Stop eating after 8pm and Dont skip breakfast

2500 calories per day is what you should be having

one yogurt is 100 cals
one meal a mcdonalds is 600-1500 calories
but just because you put it in your month didnt mean your burning what you ate.

so you have to eat what makes you burn cals, if you wont go to the gym..

Hope that helps

I joined Herbal Magic when I wanted to loose weight. I thought it was fairly expensive because you had to purchase their supplements, but it worked. You have to keep track of everything you eat, what you drink, etc. and you get weighed 2 or 3 times a week to chart your progress. I think the thing I liked best was that you had to answer to someone about your eating and exercising habits which was good for me because I am lazy.

You don't starve on their program, in fact I probably ate more food, it was just healthier food. I think they allowed a treat per day whether it was a sweet or a drink.

How fat are you guys? Those weight loss numbers are for grossly obese people. To lose 18 pounds in two weeks you need to be a huge person. Madonna won't see numbers like that. She's not that big.

Taking notes on what? There are 1000 different "diets" on here and everyone has advice and most of it bullshit.

My advice is go to http://www.reddit.com/r/progresspics.

Read the success stories. Most posters leave a detailed diet and workout regime. Pick the one that you like the most and follow it. Some do Paleo, some vegan, some keto etc. but you will see a difference in the before and after. See who you think looks best and follow their diet type. Personally the best looking before and after are usually high protein people who work out. Good luck. I get the feeling this isn't the best place to ask about exercise and diet. I'll leave it at that.

This lady is the most dramatic I have seen in a while. She is from Canada:
http://imgur.com/a/VH49U#OPcxx57

She did this in 14. mths. I have been following her and giving advice. She didnt work out that much as you can tell from the arms but if she did it anyone can because she was lazy and not all that bright....and she's 3x your size (well was).

In 2005, I weighed 200 lbs - which freaked me out since I weighed 155 in high school. Went on Atkins and started working out. Lost 20 lbs over 3 months. First week was hard but subsequently got easier as my body adapted. Kept the weight off and now am restarting it to get back to 160. It's terrifically easy - just remember no carbs, no sugar...just lots of healthy veges and protein.

Lol! We're both a good 40 lbs more than we should be. The numbers are crazy ( I think it was a lot of water weight initially ), and of course they didn't continue that way, but it did remain steady.

Did not read the thread. There is no easy way. No "diet". I was minimally overweight a year ago (bmi ~26) and now am 15-20lb less (bmi~24). Basically I ate less (and better) and exercised a crapload more.
Pq
To accomplish he former it was pretty easy. Cut all carb in half. How? No / minimal carb breafast (except for the sugar in fruits - breakfast is yogurt, fruit and a few nuts) just as hungry by lunch as if I ate 2 pieces of toast.

Minimal carbs 3-4 lunches a week. A bit of meat, an apple or two, some cheese and nuts etc. on day I'll indulge in a big lunch- comes with my job. Enjoy it.

Dinners, I eat only fresh meat and veg, but basically cut in half again the carb stuff. I still ear rice pasta, just half as much. And lots of days substitute a bit of squash, sweet potato instead of mashed pot, past rice bread etc.

Lastly, I exercised a shitload more. Went from maybe 1.5 hrs a week of moderate aerobic activity to ~ 4. Worked up to it. Not all at once, but gradually eased up to it. I found something I liked doing and was outside, and it was fairly intense. Walking around the block is good for you, but will burn minimal energy.
Slow changes are best. They are sustainable. Pretty soon it seems normal to eat well and want to exercise a lot. Try to exercise hard every day, if you do you will get in 4 days a week.

When I finally stopped to smoking last November I gained 12 pounds within 4 months and I was 152 pounds(almost 70kg) in March. No diet is working so I changed my diet to paleo. Now I exercising 5-6 times a week(40-50 minutes a day), swimming 2-3 times and I do hula hoop and kangoo jump while I watching TV.
I use just xylitol instead of sugar.(Expensive but worth it) I don't do the very strict paleo so I eat pasta or rice or a few cookies but max 2-3 times a week. I bake my own bread . Now I lost 15 pounds since March and I'm in good shape(138 pound=63kg and my BMI is 21) and I feel good. I don't want to lose more weight because my tits will be smaller then and I'm not a fan the six packs on women (and men either). You don't have to lose your weight very fast because it's coming back easily(jojo effect) but 3-4 pounds a month will be permanent.
So exercise and paleo are working together.:)

Green and white .... think lots of dark green veggies and lots of lean white protein. Eat PROTEIN at every meal, even if its a few almonds or something. It helps you feel fuller for longer :)

Spinach, broccoli, chicken, fish, nuts, seeds, salads, berries, egg whites, tuna, beans/legumes, green beans, whole grains only if you're going to eat gluten.

no sugar
no salt
no fruit juices from concentrate .. this is important drink only fresh squeezed juice
no white bread, white pasta, white rice, white flour,
limit red meats
eliminate or reduce salads dressings and condiments they all contain crap try making your own

Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water and go like hell !! spin classes or a boot camp class is great. Don't forget to stretch :)
No one can argue with her. Look at her body. The proof is in the pudding. The truth is she gave you the best and most detailed advice and she has the body to back it up. If you want really fast and unhealthy weight loss do keto. It works. But if you follow her plan it might be slower but you'll look better.
