I was chatting with a friend tonight about how I want to lose 25 pounds and how i've struggled with it for the past 4 years

I know some will say go to the gym and i tried that I wasn't motivated to go enough -so that failed

I feel like screaming cause losing weight is the hardest thing to do

I was looking at some pictures from a few years ago where i was a comfortable size and i even made copies and stuck them on my fridge so i wouldn't eat lol

heres my bod a few years ago just dying to have it back again

so if you know any diets that work id be so appreciative and I will try them

I'm not giving up on this battle it seems the older i get the harder it is to lose weight

Please share Diets that have worked I will try one of yours tomorrow and stop finding excuses and get this over with already

Thanks Madonna xoxo

The seven hour diet

Take note of how and what you ate in the last week or two, you can eliminate the unhealthy foods, and only eat within a pre set seven hours in a 24 hour period. I only have tea in the morning and do not start to eat until 12 noon, I have dinner at 6:30 PM. No food is consumed until noon the next day. you can loose weight if you stick to this method.

Low carb, and I've cut out dairy as well. I only have fruit in the morning and instead of coffee, i now drink tea. Do not cook with salt! It will bloat you and retain water! I do three days of cardio dance classes and yoga and Pilates. You should do some strength training too.

Calorie count, in combination with low carbs and high protein. The calorie counting by itself will work but it's not healthy if you (for example) use your allotment on candy. You still need to eat healthily. Find your calorie intake for your age height and weight, and reduce by 500 a day to lose weight. Combined with spinning three times a week for an hour, I lost 20 lbs over a summer. I went spinning with a friend so we could motivate each other.

Cut out "SUGAR " it is bad for your overall body. Do not substitute sweetners, drink plenty of water. Cut out carbs , you do not need them. We are able to obtain 100% of their energy requirement from protein and fats. Carbs are cheap food to make you feel full , rice , potatoes etc. Drink eight glasses of water per day to flush the body.As you start to get closer to your goal you will find it much easier to get there. Get plenty of sunlight as the vitamin D will make you feel better as in the summer months we get less sunlight and it has a depressing effect on us. Enjoy life.

in my pants, where there's a party
My friend tried so many diets over the years with no success. Diets alone are not going to cut it. I started working out in Aug, and within 1 1/2 months I was able to fit into pants I haven't been able to button in 6 years. It's not what you want to hear, but without regular, targetted physical exertion is the only thing that will remove the extra fat reserves off your body. A combination of cardio, weights, isometric, and plyometric exercise will guarantee visible results in 2 weeks.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's the only way to take the inches off and keep them off. If motivation is your challenge, find a few workout buddies, sign up for a race, watch shows/movies/video clips that feature fit people doing fit things, read fitness blogs.

And don't diet! Change your lifestyle! If you need to cheat, have a tiny bite and move on. Make the weekend your small cheat days.

In my early twenties I was 30 pounds over where I wanted to be. Honestly I didn't pick a known diet plan, I just decided to eat less (and track it) and exercise (both by running and through weightlifting). After 4 months of that I had met my target. I'd say go cold turkey on any unhealthy foods or drink you're addicted to. The moment you slip could be the moment your whole diet gets derailed. That's just what works for me. You could be completely different. Eventually you'll find something that works for you.

I will share with you something that is proven , extremely healthy and will produce immediate results. All you need is a blender , fruit and vegetables and a little willpower.

Ok so before you go to bed or first thing in the morning blend the following: 1 banana, 1 apple, 1 pear , 1 large handful of spinach or mixed greens, 4 iches of cucumber, 1 handful of berries and one cup of water. Simply take out the seeds and throw this into the blender. Select the puree option or just blend thoroughly. Drink half of this right away and save the other half for lunch. During the day only eat more fruit or vegetables and for dinner have a large salad that can have meat or fish. Do this for 1-2 weeks and you can expect to loose upwards of 10 lbs a week. After the 2 weeks continue to blend for 2 meals and have one meal that is "normal" each day. You will be full of energy , you will be extremely healthy. Your body will literally push you to do things. You will not feel hungry as you can eat fruit or vegetables anytime and also eat regular food . You will not be a social outcast because you cannot go for dinner etc because of your odd diet. PM me if you have any questions but I will tell you in all seriousness that diets can be unhealthy and short lived. I find this way of eating to be non restricting , having 75% plus of my diet coming from raw foods has me thinking more clearly , sleeping better and my sexual stamina and appetite is through the roof ( bonus side effect of eating healthy)

Eliminate all booze and soft drinks from your diet. Amazing what a difference that will make.

Plus follow some of the other good advice you see above.

This is an excellent app.

I am going paleo at the moment and it seems to be working, but I do it hand in hand with exercise, so I don't think you should ignore than end either.

Absolutely.. Was just about to write something very similar.

The secret (that nobody likes to hear) is to actually start taking ownership of your lifestyle choices.. We all are capable of change but it's about digging deep down and finding the will to change.. It's about getting up early for 30 minutes of light cardio before your shower.. It's about choosing water over juice or soda.. It's about choosing chicken over beef. It's about more veg and less carbs/fat/empty calories.. It's about NOT eating until you're bloated and groggy.. It's about NOT sitting around and relaxing from the moment you get home from work until the moment you go to sleep..

Get up, do shit, set goals, fail, try again, fail, try again, succeed, set a new goal, etc.,.. That's life.. It's shitty and hard and the fight is fucking awsome..

1200 calories a day plus exercIse is my usual post holiday diet. Writing down everything you eat and adding up the calories helps discipline.

Most diets have worked for me, its the after the diet that's important. In other words you can't continue eating what brought you to the weight you're not happy with.

You may have to accept that you cannot have sugar products , flour products etc if you want to lose weight. Natural carbs from veggies and some fruits are good, starches I stay away from. (sweet potatoe ok)

Fitday is free and you can log what you eat and will give you the complete breakdown of nutritional values. It is mostly about calories, you can eat low carb but if you pass a certain amount of calories you will gain weight in LC too.

Clean food, vegetables, lean protein, salads. I don't eat cheese, milk, salty stuff, no pasta , bread, pastry, chocolate, pretzels, chips etc. Carbs are addictive for some people. Dying for pizza? Buy a slice ,otherwise you know what's going to happen.

I buy no junk food , otherwise I'm going to eat it....keep in mind as you get older , your metabolism slows down and you need less calories. Paleo diet is about clean eating..

1200 calories a day?? Isn't that the MINIMUM for most people?

I generally eat about 2,000 calories a day plus exercise (granted I'm 6'4") and I'm still losing weight (down from 240 to about 210 thus far).

In my opinion you certainly do not need to lose weight hon, you have a stunning body :) however I know how it is to want to shed a few pounds. My friend joined weight watchers 2 months ago and has had great success with it. No major changes other than keeping track of what you eat and cutting down portions. I have been walking daily for an hour and it has helped me.
