Really. Pretty much every politician does this in one form or another. You think all campaign "volunteers" aren't looking at job prospects? At least try to attack something that is a wee bit more exclusive to him than that. Go Tory!
Nepotism is the gravy train Ford claimed he'd stop. That's just one more lie by the lying crackhead that you bought into.

At least as long as Frod stays in the race it keeps Tory from having a chance.

I'm a campaign volunteer who isn't looking at job prospects.
Now, if I meet any dating prospects, that could be an added benefit....

Ask around. Some are thinking connections. Some might be doing it as part of a post-secondary course.

And some are just hound-dogs.......at least you have your priorities straight......

He is bleeding support. Some are expecting it to go to 15-18%. What is interesting is the the number of people who state they will never vote for one candidate or another. Both Ford and Chow lead this catagory by a wide margin. Which means in many cases Tory is the alternative.

It may actually be Tory who is in the postion to come up the middle. He is the least divisive candidate.

Long way to go. Keep up that Ford bashing. I'll be happy to handle the Chow side........

Which is what they were doing when Ford assaulted Dale, mugged him for his mobile phone, and then made libelous false accusations.

Last I checked assault, theft, and libel are all illegal. Too bad Dale didn't press charges.
Dale ran screaming like a little girl. Says a lot about the little coward. Grow some balls buddy.

Yeah, you can say a lot of things about Ford, he's a drunk, a drug-addict, not very smart, not very slick with words.....etc.....etc. But one thing he's not and thats corrupt.

You wont find Ford with his hand in the cookie jar (like you would with so many other politicians)
It's not corrupt to be out playing games when you're being paid to work? And lie about it? To send City staff to buy your booze? And lie about it? To use your official office for drunken parties? And lie about it? To put the people you play football coach with on the City payroll and give them City cars to drive themselves to practices during office hours? And lie about it?

They may be small corruptions, like stealing a looney from the collection plate on Sunday, but corrupt they most certainly are. And let's not forget the significant corruption of using your Councillor's office to ask people wanting contracts from the City to send money to your toy charity. The Integrity Commissioner and the Council and the judge who removed Rob from office all thought that was most definitely corrupt.

The personal corruptions of drugging, drinking, misogyny, racism, homophobia, abusive behaviour, his arrest record and so on have likewise all been well-established.

Except for the numerous conflict of interest charges and the shoddy nepotism of hiring high school friends and pals to cushy jobs
Yeah, that never happens when Liberals are in power :biggrin1:

Nope, instead he ran like the little Liberal pussy that he is

I'm much more concerned about the hundreds of millions Smitherman "stole". As you should be.

Show me where Ford has ever been suspected of embezzling that much money?? Or even close to it

How dare he try and raise money for kids! What a corrupt bastard! That is probably the worst thing a politician can do. Squeezing these leeching contractors for charity money? They should just be rewarded contracts like in the old days where no one sees or hears anything because people blindly trust their polished and smooth talking official.
Why can't he just embezzle & waste millions of $'s quietly like the other politicians do? It seems to work for them and people don't get nearly as upset when the people doing it are not over weight.
C'mon Rob get with the program!

So that makes it ok?
Shouldn't any politician of any party found guilty of lying and conflict of interests be removed from office?
Shouldn't they be held to higher moral standards to city workers, not less?

Show us where Smitherman stole or embezzled one red cent, and do tell us what can be done about it now that he's harmlessly out of office. What you should be concerned about is confusing your dreamy fantasies with the real world.

Rob is still our Mayor, sad and shameful though that is, and in spite of his sins and crimes, there's a small danger he might keep the job. And given his record, it's pretty much a cert he'd just keep doing as badly as he always has.

I didnt say it made it OK, I just said it happens with all political parties.
And yet Libs tend to be very silent when their own party engages in nepotism

Show us where Smitherman stole or embezzled one red cent
eHealth scandal happened under his watch, that means he was either in on the scam or too incompetent to notice to scam. Either way he was directly or indirectly responsible.

http://www.thestar.com/news/city_hall/2009/10/09/ehealth_scandal_dents_smithermans_mayoral_run.html

Now please show me where Robbie Ford has ever been suspected or accused of embezzling money

For the sake of my fair city, I can only pray that Ford drops out of the race and Tory defeats Chow.

Tory will be a good mayor.

Chow will bankrupt the city. Her claims of "I know what it's like to be poor and therefore I know the value of a dollar" are laughable. If anything (and if she really did grow up poor, who knows) "growing up poor" often makes those who make such claims more inclined to stick it to whomever they perceive as "rich".

I have not forgotten about Chow and Layton living in subsidized housing (or, if you prefer, "Co-op housing", or whatever the current politically correct term for government housing is these days.).

There is a big difference between government housing and coop housing. The coop as whole got a preferable mortgage rate from the federal government, CMHC, that was the only subsidy. It wasn't ever part of the TCHC system or anything like that. Most of its units were offered at market rates.

Bankrupt the city? You should know better by now.

Chow and Layton living in subsidized housing? You should know better by now that 'they' were not being subsidized residing in Co-Op housing.

Hyperbole? You should know better by now.

Tory would win if Ford and Chow dropped out, that's your slogan for him?
This three time loser needs a Senate appointment.

"Reacted to their constituents"? How exactly?
My councilor didn't ask anyone or solicit any feedback or poll constituents. And I have yet to meet anyone in my area that raised any kind of complaint or that knew about any forum to discuss the topic. Nothing.

So tell me how councilors "reacted" to their constituents?
You're really really fucking lazy. It's called "calling or emailing your councilor". Just because you choose to stop participating in democracy AFTER the vote, doesn't mean democracy stops. Democracy doesn't have to be force fucking fed to you.. It's up to you to fucking engage it.

I had a professor that once said that the F word should be used like the semicolon (sparingly)... Maybe it was the other way around (semicolon should be used like the F word).. Either way, fuck him, he was a fucking idiot.

I like using the F word. Most of my other "angry" words are not considered faux pas (or down right offensive)..

ie: Gay, Retard, Fag, Slut etc.,.

Don't get me wrong. I get why it's wrong to use them. But they were so a part of my vernacular that they still slip out from time to time.. But now people are fucking shocked, and I have to spend the rest of the evening explaining that it's just leftovers from an older time when you COULD say these things.. And it's really hard for me to give enough of a shit to change..
