Chad Allan & The Expressions. The only hit they had until they later officially became the Guess Who?, and Burton Cummings replaced Chad Allan on vocals...
In the first photo that's Chad (nee Allan Kowbel) bottom left.
I recently re-watched The Queen's Gambit and in one of the episodes Shocking Blue is playing this song in the background on the TV.
It reached number one on the charts in the U.S. back in the late 1960's.
FYI Pete Best, who preceded Ringo, put out an album. The name of the album was/is "Best of the Beatles."
SNL many moons ago, had a skit of Pete Best after he was fired. I think he took a government job as a paper pusher. The sketch showed him as a regular guy - most of the time. But he had a rage against Ringo which could explode at any time.
Thing is, in my view, the band would never have achieved greatness with a different lineup. Perhaps they would have been legit one hit wonders.
It's also true that Ringo received the most fan mail. ...Including one from Marge Simpson (Bouvier)
O.K. Maybe two hit wonder. He is Lip Syncing in this particular You Sexy Thing video by the way. You can notice near the end.
April Wine did a good job of their You Could've Been a Lady .
