I called them to confirm that they do, was added in the last few months.

For me traveling from a far a high speed connection is almost essential vs dial up. I have lots of e-mail etc to keep up with including business and business web access is vital.

Hopefully more of the nicer hotels on Lundy will get high-speed Internet as that is becoming a stardard with many of the larger chains, such as Best Western, Rennesaince, Marriott, Holiday Inn Express, etc.

Park Plaza Hotel

Anyone used the Park Plaza? I was wondering how they might be for an afternoon adventure.

Don't know or haven't heard anything about Park Plaza so I can't help you on that one. I'm surprised nobody answered in this Niagara Motel thread so far. The thread has been active so there is interest in the Niagara motels.

I find that the Park Plaza Hotel amenities are acceptable; but at the lower end of the hotel spectrum. Because of their small lobby the ladies may have more trouble passing the front desk unnoticed getting to the elevators. However I have never heard of the management hassling any of the girls. Regular rooms go for under $70.00 with a Jacuzzi room under $100.00 CN. At the front of the Hotel you will find that the Manhattan’s Restaurant is convenient, casual and decent food.

I feel that the accommodations at the Marriott Courtyard across the street are a better value at a comparable cost. And you have the Courtyard Café and Keg Steakhouse right in the Hotel. However you have to quarrel at the Marriott to park there free when checking in, while the parking is free at Park Plaza.

Marriot Courtyard

That's funny you mention parking at the Marriot. I was there a week ago but only for the afternoon. I love their spacious rooms and always enjoy staying there. This time, I only wanted the room for the afternoon and booked it at $69CA. I figured this was maybe $20-30 higher than the Arkona or Advantage Inn but I figured it was worth it. When I checked in, there was no verbal mention of parking but they did give me a tag for my car. When I checked out...the bill was $107 which included the parking fee and taxes. Wow!

I have no problem spending money on a room but $107 was a little stiff for only 3 hours!

The part I really hated was having the same young girl check me out that just checked me in a few hours earlier. She even commented "didn't I just check you in?". At that point, I didn't really look at the bill or feel like arguing over the rate. Maybe I should have just left without checking out? Does anyone know what happens if you do this?

They go ahead and bill your card.

checking out

They would bill your card most likely for the full night. Most hotels have express checkout. The morning of your checking out the bill is usualy slid under the door, if it correct you just leave and they charge you card.

I can't remember the last time I checked out of a good hotel. Even at the notels, I leave the key on the desk and leave and have been told to do so at the Advantage. You know your a hobiest when the notel operator recognizes you.

Thanks guys! I wasn't sure if they mailed out a receipt or anything. MY CC bill comes to my office and under normal cirmcumstances would be given to me unopened. I can't be guaranteed this will always happen due to the volume of mail. I'll just leave next time...it would be easier than getting looks at the check-out desk. I got into this hobby to relieve stress...not create it!

I guess it's back to the Advantage the next time!

I have just reconfirmed with a nice lady on the phone that they have free wireless Internet in all the rooms in the Tower and Courtyard. Not in the Guesthouse older area.

I assume the Tower is best for us that want to stay away from kids and families :(

Tourist season approaches and the rates will go up some.
Let us know what the best deals are in the area along with the ones to avoid.

Doubletree

I find the doubletree a great place to stay. New, Clean, Classy and Usually not too overpriced. Exellent staff too. THe only thing missing is high speed internet in the rooms. Crazy that they dont have that...

Looks like May 27th is the date the tourists start swarming (for U.S. Memorial Day weekend).

The Courtyard by Marriott rate for Whirlpool room goes from $100 to $150/night. Then by mid June back to $140 and $180 near end of June

Niagara Falls
There's a tourist information booth at the corner of Stanley and North St in Niagara Falls. She's now open again for the summer season. If you are staying overnight or for a weekend, go see Camilla first. She gets quite a few good deals from the larger hotels in the tourist area. Her number is 905-374-4586 or toll free 1-866-370-6009. She does have a website which is www.discountsniagara.com if you're planning on bringing your family. But she does get room discounts daily, just call early enough in the day to get her best ones!!

just a recent bump to add my two cents. Ive visited NF's the past two years for a get away exotic road trip and have stayed at only two places. First time was at the Express Inn in Thorold. It was right beside Cristals SC and is more like a drive up motel. It was very clean and basic but a great place to stay. At this time i had an incall with (edited) (now retired and was working at Hooters last i heard from her) Amazing lady but back to the hotel, the room had a jacuzzi tub and I enjoyed it with a beer while watching some college football and then later with (edited). The later i enjoyed much more. While staying there i was sitting outsidelistening to some tunes and having a beer and noticed 4 hot babes just down the way BBQing on a small camping type BBQ. They noticed i had beer and i noticed they have meat. Well you can imagine what happened next. yep, we shared! it was great! It didnt turn into the porn scene i was dreaming about but it was a blast! met two later at Cristals for some good dances. Offered take out but not willing to pay big $$$. Anyway, im trying to stick to the motel here sorry. Its a short drive to Sed/SD and is still on Lundy's Lane but just a bit further up. Good deal i though at $69.
The next few times i stayed at HOJO's Express in on LL as well. Great price for a decent place. Once was in the summer at $79 i think then in Oct at $49. Good basic place nearer to the clubs.

Im going to be in the falls again on Oct 29 for some fun and I did some research and found Knights Inn on LL. The websites said it was $49 but i called directly and they quoted me a cost of $36. I looked at the pics and thought it was an ok looking place. No reviews here though. I booked as its just a place to crash for me. No outcalls this time (we'll see) so as long as its clean and decent im ok staying there. Any one have any info on Knights Inn LL? Should i call and cancel immediately? lol Looking forward to my visit

The Kingsway has been very SP-friendly, is clean, a stone's throw to Sundowner & Seductions, plus $45 cash for regular room. Jacuzzi rooms available for a bit more. Comparable in quality to the Express Inn.

Don't know much about the Knights Inn. I think there are couple of them in town.

I was in NF three times last month. On the first trip I used the Advantage Inn and paid $45 plus tax for total of $50. On the next trip I ventured across the street to the Rodeway Inn and paid $47 plus tax for total of around $56. I like the Rodeway a little better so on my last trip I went back to the Rodeway and was quoted $60 plus tax. I questioned the woman why the week before it was only $47 but she couldn't give me a straight answer so I turned to leave. On my way out the door she yelled, "You can have it for a flat $60" but I said "no thank you" and headed back to the Advantage Inn where I got the room for $45 flat with no tax.

I think it all depends who's working at both places. On my last trip to the Advantage, a younger girl initially quoted me $45 plus tax but an older woman came from the back room and told her "no tax...just $45". I wonder if they start recognizing faces of their repeat customers and try to give them a little break?

Advantage, Kingsway, Arkona

I have never paid tax at any of the 3. I walk up to the desk with cash in hand, sign something on a card and get the key. I've had occassional sucess with less cash than normal during the really slow periods (Nov - March).

Unfortunately, that doesn't work at the chain hotels.

no one has had any experience at the Knights Inn on Lundys Lane? I dont mean, for having SP's for outcalls or having to be sneaky checking in and paper trail concerns. I just need to know its an ok, clean place with no real issues. anyone?
