Landeskog game-time decision for Avalanche against Stars in Game 7
Forward was cut on leg by skate blade, might play in finale of Western Second Round
https://www.nhl.com/news/colorado-avalanche-gabriel-landeskog-status-update/c-318876814
"Gabriel Landeskog will be a game-time decision for the Colorado Avalanche against the Dallas Stars in Game 7 of the Western Conference Second Round at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Friday (4 p.m. ET; USA, SN, TVAS).

"I guess there is a chance, to be honest," Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said Thursday. "I don't know how probable it is at this point."

Landeskog was cut on his right leg by Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar's skate with 2:06 remaining in the second period of their 4-1 win in Game 6 on Wednesday in Edmonton, the Western hub city. Landeskog returned during the third period, playing one 16-second shift..."

Canucks blank Golden Knights in Game 6 of West Second Round, even series
Demko makes 48 saves in shutout to force deciding game
https://www.nhl.com/news/vegas-golden-knights-vancouver-canucks-game-6-recap/c-318858290
"Thatcher Demko made 48 saves, and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-0 in Game 6 to even the Western Conference Second Round series at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Thursday.

It was Demko's first NHL shutout.

"My job's the same regardless of the score," Demko said. "I just try to keep pucks out of the net. It doesn't matter if it's 1-0, we're down 1-0 or up by three. I'm just trying to make the saves I have to make to make sure they can find a way to win."..."

Islanders eager for third chance to close out Flyers in East Second Round
Not discouraged after 2OT loss in Game 6 evens series
https://www.nhl.com/news/new-york-i...philadelphia-flyers/c-318885506?tid=277548856
"The New York Islanders knew it wasn't going to be easy to eliminate the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference Second Round. But they must be certain of it now.

The Islanders came up short again in their second attempt at finishing off the Flyers, losing 5-4 in double overtime in Game 6 of the best-of-7 series at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Thursday.

Philadelphia defenseman Ivan Provorov scored 15:03 into the second overtime Thursday, two days after Scott Laughton's defection at 12:20 of overtime kept the Flyers alive with a 4-3 win in Game 5.

So the Islanders will have to try again Saturday in Game 7 in Toronto, the East hub city (7:30 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, TVAS). The winner plays the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final...."

Krug says long-term value at peak as free agent if he leaves Bruins
Defenseman wants to return to Boston but won't take fewer years, less salary
https://www.nhl.com/news/torey-krug...mpending-free-agent/c-318876466?tid=277548856
"Torey Krug said Thursday he is looking for a longer-term contract and would not take fewer years or less money to remain with the Boston Bruins before becoming a free agent.

"I'm very opposed to that," the defenseman said of signing a one-year contract. "I've bet on myself. I've taken shorter-term deals, less amount of money my whole career now. This is my time in terms of my value at its peak. I have the ability, I'm in a position now where I need to make the most of it."

The 29-year-old, who reiterated he would like to stay with the Bruins, can become an unrestricted free agent with his four-year contract with an average annual value of $5.25 million about to expire. Prior to that, he signed two consecutive one-year contracts, worth $1.4 million for 2014-15 and $3.4 million in 2015-16..."

https://www.nhl.com/news/stanley-cu...-finals-predictions/c-318911034?tid=277548856

Fourteen of the 16 predicted the Lightning would defeat the New York Islanders in the Eastern Conference Final, and the Golden Knights would defeat the Dallas Stars in the West.

Staff writer Bill Douglas and Editor-in-Chief Bill Price were the only staffers to pick the Islanders against the Lightning, while Price and staff writer David Satriano were the only ones to pick the Stars to defeat the Golden Knights.

Satriano was the lone staffer to predict the Stars would defeat the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Second Round..."

"We're excited. We've earned it, [making] this far," New York defenseman Andy Greene said. "Enjoy it for an hour or two here tonight. We're back at it, what, Monday? Travel day tomorrow and then we're right into it. Not too long to bathe in it, but we've just got to get focused and get ready for Monday (Game 1, 8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS)."..."

Has anyone seen per game viewer stats ? Compared to last year Stanley Cup ? Compared to when Leafs and Canadians were still in the running ? I follow the Leafs a bit. I have minimal interest now

Cassidy of Bruins wins Jack Adams Award as top coach
Boston won Presidents' Trophy, allowed fewest goals in NHL
https://www.nhl.com/news/bruins-coach-bruce-cassidy-wins-jack-adams-award/c-318952582?tid=280503612
Bruce Cassidy of the Boston Bruins won the Jack Adams Award as the top coach in the NHL in 2019-20 on Wednesday.

Cassidy guided the Bruins to the best record in the NHL (44-14-12, .714 points percentage) and the Presidents' Trophy as the top regular-season team. Boston was eight points ahead of the second-place Tampa Bay Lightning in the Atlantic Division, the largest margin for any division leader, when the season was paused March 12 due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus.

The Bruins allowed the fewest goals in the NHL (167, 2.39 per game) and were tied with the Philadelphia Flyers for seventh in scoring (227 goals, 3.24 per game). They were second to the Edmonton Oilers on the power play (25.2 percent) and third in the NHL on the penalty kill (84.3 percent). Cassidy was a finalist for the award in 2017-18.

Damn! The 6 is a typo. Obviously, I meant 4 or 5 goals.

It's 5 goals. So, I'm correct again.

"He had five goals, including the only one in the Islanders’ 2-1 loss in Game 2 on Wednesday, matching his total for the entire regular season."

(Costanza's best talent is spotting typos (and spelling mistakes). It's his joy in life.)

not always sure...
So, you never made a typo and/or a spelling mistake in your life? It happens to normal human beings.
Darts, please.... you don't have to get into a free for all with every juvenile dork on an adult website who trolls you.
This guy clearly struggles with grade 5 math skills, has trouble comprehending articles he reads and now can't figure out that 5 is somewhere between 4 and 6.
Based on his maturity level, how old do you think he is? Like 12, maybe? I'm serious.

Here, note Proverb 26:4 - "Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him."
I only had to tear gas and rubber bullet a few innocent protesters to get that out there....

The Dallas Stars advanced to the Stanley Cup Final and will play the Tampa Bay Lightning or New York Islanders.

"We got a great team," captain Jamie Benn said. "Everyone's bought into their role. … Probably one of the best teams, if not the best team I've played on. We just jell as a group. It's fun in that locker room, and we're going to try and keep this thing going."

Good thing then that Tampa Bay doubled down on grit and heavy players with their signings in the last year so they can compete now, because what you're pointing out is that virtually every team that made a deep playoff run plays a big, heavy game.

Even Brad Marchand pointed out the Lightning play was a lot more physical this year, with Maroon, Coleman and Goodrow.

Every contending team has to have a balance of skill, speed and heavy checkers.

That was precisely my point. You don't just turf out your core of soft skilled players who don't hit.

So, the question now is where will the Leafs get the players that can play a big, heavy game?

Maybe, from the 2019 and/or the 2018 draft?
